What I remember extra from the stay is: - The lovely bath tub (the bluebell room is actually a family room, but we could stay there since we were staying 2 nights), - The wonderful breakfast (I still dream of the bowl of fruits we had. The hostess got smoked salmon and made scrambled eggs and salmon which was really... More

A lovely great value guest house . Michelle was very welcoming and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great; fruit salad, plentiful choice of cereals, croissants, toast, and plentiful choice of jams / conserves, as well as several choices of a cooked breakfast to order and the tea and coffee pots were being refilled throughout. Our room... More

I stayed for 2 nights as I am relocating to Canterbury and wanted to check out a few properties. Michelle the owner was very welcoming and had a good knowledge of Canterbury and the surrounding areas. My room was comfortable and clean with tea / coffee making facilities. The breakfast was really good. I had a very pleasant stay.

We booked quite late at the Bluebells, having lived and worked in the area a while ago we have made several visits to Canterbury over the years, staying at a variety of hotels, this was by far the best that we have had. Michelle is a lovely host, welcoming friendly and helpful, breakfast was fantastic, good choices with lots of... More

We stayed at the Bluebells for one night in the Bluebell room. The room is large and has two beds (one double, one single) and very nice vintage-y shabby-chic decor, with wooden floorboards and delicate flowery prints. Bathrobes, slippers and tourist information were provided, which was a nice touch. The best thing though was the large bathroom! It was for... More

My partner and I stayed for two nights. We had to change rooms for the second night but this was because I left booking to the last minute. Michelle was very accommodating and adjusted check out times and so forth to help make the transition as smooth as possible. I actually enjoyed getting to experience two rooms - Rose Room... More

We stayed for 3 nights for my birthday. We had the Orchid Suite at the top of the house. A large bedroom & adjoining large bathroom, plenty of privacy. Michelle, the landlady, is very friendly & welcoming. The breakfasts were fantastic from full English to scrambled egg & salmon, porridge, nothing was too much trouble. My husband was almost drowning... More

We stayed at the bluebells guest house for 3 nights, we stayed in the Rose room. The room is beautifully decorated, it has a double bed and a small but functional built in wardrobe. The room had a separate bathroom with only a shower, which is ok. but for our sole use only which is good. Michelle was a perfect... More

It was almost a last minute booking. No time to really check for the best. But we got it, lucky of us! From the first minute we meet her, Michele is already a friend. Her house is really refined and more than comfortable. Breakfast is splendid. The house is well located to get on foot in center town (just a... More

“All rooms seemed comfortable, but I would choose the one on the top floor (Orchid Suite) since it is all alone on the top floor. While the Bluebells room was very comfortable, you had to get dressed to go the the (private) bathroom down the corridor. Not a big problem, but if you have a choice, take the Orchid and be more private. On the other hand, if you prefer the bath to the shower, choose the Bluebells room and its large bathroom with a free standing claw foot bathtub (bath oils and candles supplied!) and a shower.”
