We stayed for 4 nights and had a memorable time. We were able to go round the inside of Castle 20 minutes before it opened to the public so were able to take excellent photos. Also we were able to pop home for tea in between going round the tunnels. The kitchen had every appliance that we needed and an...

We have just had the most wonderful weekend at Peverell's Tower, Dover Castle. Beautifully maintained by English Heritage, this is not an inexpensive self catering apartment, but it is certainly unique and worth every penny. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed superb views from the terrace; over the harbour, Dover town and the Castle site. The one bedroom...

No real point in expanding on what others have already written. It appears that English Heritage are keeping the place in very good order. Hats off to all of the staff for that. We had fabulous weather whilst at Peverell's Tower, but I can imagine that even when bashed by all the bad weather that the Channel good throw at...

Excellent experience, loved the shower. Very well equipped kitchen, not to mention the out of hours access to Dover Castle grounds. Maybe worth taking slippers as the carpeting is limited. Going up the spiral staircase to the roof is brilliant.

Stayed at Peverall's Tower for my partners birthday, (Monday 6th to Friday 10th January 2014) as previous reviews have stated it is the most amazing place. As it was so very early in the year the Castle itself is closed apart from Saturdays and Sundays so we were fortunate to have it all to ourselves for the duration of our...

This would have to be the most unique place we have stayed in and was the highlight of our trip around UK. A 12th / 13th century defensive tower converted into a comfortable apartment with all the mod cons! Beautiful location, awesome views and the grounds of the castle to ourselves after 6pm! It just doesn't get better than this....

Peverell’s Tower has to have been one of the most unusual places in which we have ever stayed and we loved every minute we were there. Where else can you stay in a self contained apartment forming part of a late 12th/early 13th century gate and call it ‘home’?! The tower, forming part of the outer defensive curtain wall of...

As Australian's living in the UK, we travel extensively - averaging some 40 trips a year - mostly staying in 4 star plus places, but this would undoubtedly take the prize for our best ever stay. Not only is the setting without parallel as one would expect, but the self contained flat is beautifully fitted out with modern, hand made...

This place is the best place we have even been. The views, the facilities and the peace. Apart from internet access and sky TV all mod cons are included. A dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Wow. Heaven! We really did not want to leave!!!!

Hubby and I went to England to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and wanted to find a special place to stay. English Heritage has quite a few different properties that can be booked, including the one we chose - Peverell's Tower on the grounds of Dover Castle. The building was constructed around 1200 as a gate for the castle (at...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The location of this superb accommodation is unbeatable and for a truly panoramic view guests can enjoy the private roof terrace. Built high within the walls of Dover Castle this 13th century Tower is as rich in character as it is in history. Named after William de Peverell, this tower has been witness to many key events that have shaped England's History. This medieval fortress was built by Henry II and its Great Tower served as a royal palace for the Plantagenet kings. Climb the winding stairway to discover the beautifully converted holiday accommodation where many of the original features have been retained including some graffiti scrawled by a former occupant thought by many to be a 16th century prisoner. ... more   less
