I stayed here for 4 nights, one night in the dorm, 3 nights in the James Bond room at the top of the stairs. Pretty inexpensive living for Dover. Overall, I was able to get a fair night's sleep, thankfully I am an early riser as construction immediately adjacent begins about 7:00 am. Currently there is scaffolding all along the...

Hi, I can’t believe one reviewer's claim that ”The "free breakfast" is literally just bad coffee in a dirty cup.” When I stayed there last summer during a geology field trip with some old uni colleagues, Paul, the delightfully attentive owner, appeared every morning with a pot of whole bean Ethiopia Yirgacheffe coffee and a plate of freshly-baked croissants. He...

Apart the fact that it´s close to the "town centre", nothing is good. Not even close to okay, and I´ve been in a LOT of hostels. After the horrible experience, I thought someone must let people know how horrible this place is. First of all, it looks seriously creepy. We get there, no one´s around to let us in, until...

Well-situated not far from either the ferry port or Dover town center, and at what seems like a very reasonable price (10 GBP on the website - turns out to be a straight-out lie. They charge 15 GBP a night), this seems like a good choice... until you walk through the front door. The fist thing to hit you is...

I never gave a one-star review before, but boy, does this place deserve it! Sure, it is cheap, but it definitely is not worth more than what you pay for! When you enter the building, currently placed in the middle of a rebuilding site, it looks very much like you would expect from a backpacker hostel. Bit cramped, and old,...

kind of strange place where things are really weird , if you are young you might like it, one bloke farted and every one thought it was funny then he farted again, really gross , he then drank some lemonade and belched

Staff couldnt be more helpful. Place has real character. Beds are comfy and rooms clean. Place is very warm and appealing. If you need a place to crash for the night this place is perfect on a budget.

a very laidback, friendly place to stay, with lot of meetings with the locals (in the pub), small room to spend your time, very creative with space (slept in a room suitable for 4 with 6 people, but got a reduction: paid for 5 instead of 6). Nice and friendly staff, allthough a bit difficult to make arrangements with. Ownership...

Unforgettable. I've never experienced such an awful hotel. A night 'down under'. On arrival to the Castle I was greeted with a building which did not quite live up to the newly painted, quaint, little pub that the photo suggests it is. In fact, it was a hovel in the middle of a huge building site with no parking. The...

There are 5 showers, some people sleep on the beds and not underneath in the 3 inches of dust and that was a temporary fire escape you were on not the way in other than that good review

What to say about Dover, went to visit a close friend for the weekend and it definitely has its charm with an incredibly rich history with a lot of quality places to eat and drink. Went to the castle and the beach and spent a lot of time at Cullin's Yard. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the...
