Located just a few minutes away from the city centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells, The Russell Hotel is a household name with the locals.
As student travellers visiting from London and Newcastle, we found The Russell Hotel is be the most reasonably priced accommodation for a one night stay in the town before we embarked on our travels around Kent. The hotel, though dated in its appearance, boasts a charming, 1950s sort of feel (if you are into that sort of thing). The hotel was easy to find, with ample amounts of free parking in the back and lovely staff members that greet you in the lobby.
The room looks untouched from the past and has definitely seen better days, but for the price and location, we couldn’t really complain. It is about 5 minutes from the Opera House and a 10 minute walk to Assembly Hall and Calvery Park.
In the morning we were treated to a scrumptious breakfast that was included when we booked the hotel. The full English breakfast included a spread of jams, beverages and cereals on a buffet table and is also visited by locals.
Overall, the quietness of the hotel may raise some alarm bells for guests at first glance, but it is mostly cosy and adequate for a night’s stay in this beautiful town.

This is a beautiful building and the room we have (36) is clean and tidy, the check in was easy and the staff friendly. When asking for more pillows, this was done immediately.
However, none of the furniture in the room matches and the bed was incredibly soft. The complementary shower gel, was just 2 sachets, and there was no hand soap.
Although, the included free car park and full breakfast was a brilliant plus. As well as the central location, being just a few minutes from the centre of the town.
All in all this was a good visit.

We stayed here last wk. Breakfast was lovely, all freshly cooked and choice of 4 cereals, orange juice or apple, yoghurt.
The three staff we saw were all friendly and chatty.
The bathroom in the room I was moved to because toilet seat broke in first room was clean and modern. No problem with car parking, we got a spot everyday.
But!! It was dirty!. There is dated but dated and dirty is not acceptable. The dust was thick on the stairs, cobwebs on my bedroom window. The wallpaper was peeling in the bedroom. The locks on the bedroom door are very insecure. The furniture needs updating badly. Unless you ask for clean cups or anything else then nothing is replenished. I know hotels are using covid as an excuse not to enter rooms but fresh towels etc could be left at your door if they are still bothered about covjd.
The stairs carpet hadn't been hoovered once in the 4 days we were there.
It is such a shame that more money hasn't been spent on the place because s nice room is all part of your holiday experience in my eyes

I have to say that it was difficult to find fault here. Yes, the décor was a little dated, however, this was not an issue for us, since the required facilities were all there.
The hotel is a short walk from the town centre, about 10 minutes, and it does carry the Tunbridge Wells location, so with it comes the price tag.
That said, we stayed in a spacious room (best in the house, as the man on reception told me), with spacious bathroom and a little microwave room. We slept well and the breakfast wasn't bad, although it would have been nice if the Romanian gentleman serving breakfast had been a little more polite.

I booked a room in the annex but after inspecting the room couldn't bring myself to stay there. It resembled a well used bed-sit and I have to say that it's the first time I couldn't bring myself to use a sofa or a bed in a hotel room. The room smelt a little stale so I opened the window but couldn't have left it open due to the noise of passers by. In the end I took my things back to the car and booked another room elsewhere. The booking was non-refundable so I lost my money but there was no way that I was going to sleep there. I was about to ask if they could find me another room but after seeing two chaps who looked like addicts sat 'smoking' outside reception in the hotels garden area convinced me not to bother.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights b+b at the Russell Hotel Friday 8th to Sunday 10th September primarily to see one old friend and celebrate with another her birthday. We wanted something central which this Hotel is suited but on a very noisy rode. The first room we were show was at the back of the hotel to avoid the noise but the two beds were very soft. We then were moved to room 47 which is on the front and with the weather being so hot we needed the windows open and so got the full noise. Room was OK but very dated and shower was adequate. Breakfast was good with a very good cooked breakfast and freshly made cafetiere coffee. The bar sold small 187 ml bottles of wine and tanglefoot bottled beer. The scond night we were woken by staff saying there was a fire alarm with the warning light from our room! There was no fire and we were woken up just before 5 am!
The staff were helpful. I think the owners need to spend a few thousand pounds to update and improve the hotel.

We enjoyed staying at the Russell Hotel, it’s clean and comfortable and the staff are lovely. It has a very central location and a useful car park. The interior decor is slightly dated but overall it’s very nice and great value for money. We had the breakfast included within our price which was decent enough, won’t be winning any culinary awards but filled a gap. Overall I would highly recommend.

Hard work finding good value weekend accommodation in Tunbridge Wells, for a single person,BUT after a futile websearch+phone calls- a very helpfull&efficient Andrew answered my call for help&sorted my requirements-no problem. Having spent carer breaks@lots of hotels in the S.East area, I did a Hobsons choice survey&have decided to repeat my experience as often as possible .My room @the top, had a very nice view, also the best hotel plumbing I've ever experienced+ a kettle&tv that works, in a VERY clean room. The bed was perfect for me. The breakfast was leisurely&the chef cooked me what I asked for(note NO veggie options). The room I had,has been refurbished to a very high standard. There is NO LIFT, so you WILL need luggage assistance! or be a rather fit person!

Amazing location for such a BAD hotel. Very very dated. The lady at the front desk was very nice but the whole place just felt like it was about to close for good. Socket hanging off wall. Had some very strange man banging at my door at 1:30am saying he thinks this was his room. Like others have written I think there are people accommodated by the council. Didn’t feel comfortable here at all. Generally, very low standards

from the outside the building looks lovely, but that is where is stops. Our room was at the top. It obviously hadn't been hoovered or cleaned for ages. There was cobwebs every where, when you got out the shower with wet feet, the bathroom and room floors hadn't been cleaned or hoovered so bits were sticking to my feet. There was paint peeling off the walls the skirting boards have not been cleaned in a long time. The only clean part of the room luckily was the bed. The hot breakfast items missing, poached eggs were hard boiled, the mushrooms were tinned and cold and the bacon was like cardboard. Best part of the breakfast was the toast. For £109 a night i expected more. Stay some where else!

I would think so as long as you let reception know you are checking in
If your child is unable to behave and / or disturbing guests during breakfast , ADH disorder or no ADH disorder I would have asked you to leave myself
Calm down and get a grip of yourself man.
