Hotel's Favourite
The bed was the best of all five hotels we stayed in during a week's holiday. The bathroom is like a plastic pod, however it's super clean and the shower was large. This was also the only hotel that had AC in the room, so it was easy to sleep since it was a very warm week.
The colour scheme could probably be a bit more updated and the carpet felt a bit worn and not super clean, but for the price, I'd go there again. Hull is probably not a first choice for a holiday, but if you go there and just want a place to sleep, this is perfect. Close to Princess Quay and the centre.

Great location, just on the edges of the centre of the city it’s no more than a 5-minute walk away from sites and attractions. Also within walking distance of the train station
I stayed in a double room. The room had a desk, wardrobe (with hangers), full length mirror and a TV. There were also facilities to make a cup of tea/coffee, with takeaway cups. The room had lots of places to sit and lots of lighting.
The bathroom was the perfect size, the hotel provided soap/shampoo.conditioner in refillable bottles which was a nice, sustainable touch.
The look of the room was shabby, with a few stains on the wall and cracked plaster, you could also see where issues had been painted over. While the room was clean it just needed redecorating.
I didn’t like the lock on the room, it was easy to use but the door unlocked when the handle was pushed down (from the inside).
Overall it was a good hotel to stay in and perfect for me as a solo traveller, I could walk everywhere and felt safe coming back to the hotel in the evening. I would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget.

Great staff in a fairly central location. Was clean and tidy with the usual, standard, no frills rooms that you get with Ibis.
A couple of small things, there is no on site car parking. There is a lay-by outside the hotel so you can drop your bags off before funding pay parking. There is a car park about 200 yards from the hotel which cost us £3 for 24 hours. This was on a Saturday so I don’t know if a weekday would cost you more. The other thing worth noting was the breakfast. At £6 for all you can eat it sounds a bargain. It isn’t. It was without doubt the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. The bacon, if that’s what it was, was swimming in fat and as hard as wood. The sausage was, at best, tasteless and the only eggs available were scrambled. It depends on what you want for breakfast, obviously, but if you fancy a fry up then don’t spend your money here. There is a cafe just round the corner that does two breakfasts for £8.95, and they are edible!
Breakfast aside, I’d happily stay here again. And, as I said, exceptional staff 😊

I’m not in the habit of writing negative reviews as there is usually something positive to be found. I will therefore start with the positives. The staff at this Ibis are amazing, they have been dealt a very poor hand and are working in a less than inspirational environment. Every member of staff that we met was helpful, smiling , hardworking and friendly. They are the saving grace of the place.
The location is ideal if you are travelling by public transport, the WiFi actually worked and the showers were good. If we had paid hostel rates rather than hotel rates, we would have been content with that.
We were surprised to find paper cups and plastic glasses in the room considering we had booked for a 5 night stay.
Even in a hostel we would hope to find cleanable carpets, toilets that flushed reliably/ flushed at all ( in our first room the toilet didn’t flush so we moved rooms. In the second room it was hit and miss) clean duvets ( the actual covers were clean but my duvet was stained) and a general feeling that the place might possibly have been redecorated in the past 30 years. Everything past the reception area was shabby and had a feeling of neglect.
I have to admit that despite booking and paying for 5 nights, we left after night 3. Having had to move from our initial room due to the toilet not working, we were given a disabled room, unfortunately, the smell of urine in our shower room and our general unease at staying somewhere so tired and shabby made us leave and move elsewhere.

Well where do I start, the best thing was probably the car park behind (but not owned by) the hotel where it was 24 hrs for 3 pounds. Upon arriving into the reception at the hotel the foyer was dull, gloomy and soulless, which is fine, its a budget hotel but for bank Holiday weekend you'd expect it to be a bit brighter and livelier.
We started our check-in process for 3 adults and 1 child over 2 rooms, the adult and child booked in and chose their breakfast items followed by myself and another adult for the other room, when it came to our breakfast only one of us was allowed it, why? They claimed that where we booked it through specified only one breakfast (despite the booking dot com forms saying breakfast included for all guests) so we thought no fuss, let's just add another breakfast on.
Now I'm not sure why you had to pick what time you wanted breakfast and what items before hand but basically it's cereals fruit or croissants.. For 9 quid!!! Absolute joke. We cancelled all breakfasts got our money back and decided we will go to spoons instead where we can actually have a cooked breakfast for 1/4 the price.
Now where it gets even worse is when we got to our room, jesus, it was like stepping back in time to the 70s with the decor and the room was in a state. Ceiling falling through, rust all over the bathroom, spider hanging from the ceiling, cobwebs and mold around the window, stains on the curtains, stains on the floor, white powder all underneath the bed which I can only assume is ant killer, cracks on the wooden furniture, stains on the floor, the bathroom had an overwhelming and consistent odour of fish, like honestly, my idea of a good weekend away on my own is wild camping with the bare minimum and sleeping on the floor under a tarp in a bivvy bag and I can honestly say I'd rather have slept outside that night.
I don't have to say more really just look at the pictures. Dirty, grotty, unkempt, out of date, smelly minging Hotel, I wouldn't have even paid 15 quid in hindsight for the room. Rip off.

We had a two night stopover at the Ibis hotel in Hull May/June traveling to Hull by train. Our primary reason for visiting Hull was to see a concert at the ‘Bonus Arena’ and we chose the hotel because of its proximity to both the venue and also the railway station. We stayed on an additional night to take the opportunity to take a look around the Hull and the hotel is also well positioned to reach both the ‘old town’ and marina areas of the city.
We were given a ground floor room and this was reached via a corridor from the reception area. The room was not large but suited our needs for a short stay. The room was furnished with flat screen TV, hair dryer and ‘open’ wardrobes (with hangers), and shelving to lay clothes on. The room had a double bed which was very comfortable (we both slept well), and limited tea and coffee making facilities. There were ample three pin plug sockets in the room one of which had USB sockets. The room had one window which looked out onto the hotel car park and this had a very good quality curtain which made the room very dark when pulled.
The bathroom had a basin, toilet and shower with a reasonable amount of flat surfaces to stand toiletries on. Liquid soap and shampoo were available if required and also a 110/240v shaving socket. The bathroom appeared to take the form of a ‘pre-fabricated’ unit which is installed into the room as the hotel is constructed so consequently there is little sound proofing provided between the bathroom and bedroom.
Breakfast was served in a room to the front of the hotel and comprised a fairly comprehensive buffet style arrangement complete with cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, cooked breakfast, tea & coffee, fruit juice and toast. There is not a large number of tables here but the staff on duty worked hard to clear and clean then after each use so that they were available for the next diner.
Overall, the hotel appeared clean and well maintained and all of the staff that we came into contact with were friendly and helpful.
We would certainly consider a return stay here if we were to visit Hull by train.

We stayed her for two nights in early June and there isn’t much to say about the hotel. The rooms are the standard UK Ibis rooms and looking little tired now, although the hallways in this hotel are looking even more dated. The doors also close very loudly, so if you have neighbouring guests who don't care about others and let the door slam you'll know about it, probably several times.
The hotel has a good location in the city not too far away from anything and if you’re going to an event at the Bonus Arena it is perfect. There’s no parking on-site but the closest multi-storey car park is only £3 for 24 hours (cash) or £3.20 if paying by app.
We opted not to have breakfast at the hotel as there is a decent Wetherspoons around the corner.
Nobody is ever going to be excited to stay in this hotel, but it does exactly what you need it to and at a very decent price as well.

Our visit to IBIS was not planned but rather one of unfortunate circumstances. We were on a group holiday with 37 people headed to France.
Unfortunately a mistake at fuel pumps resulted in uncertainty, stress and upset among the group, but IBIS were able to accommodate for us within about 30 - 45 minutes notice, despite being staffed for a usual Thursday. The staff then had the monumental task of dealing with 37 upset, annoyed and stressed customers, plus catering to us, which during normal service is likely a large task, never mind when staffed for a Thursday evening capacity.
We cannot fault the staff at all, and they dealt with the situation they had landed on them with the best of their capability, and in the interest of honesty and integrity in reviews, we did have to wait a bit longer than hoped for food, but again, this is due to a sudden 37 covers to serve, so given the circumstances, I can't fault it, however there are other ways in hindsight it could have been handled, i.e. stagger orders, let people know it would be a longer wait etc... if they had expressed that it would be a much longer wait, we would have been able to go to the room, get washed and return later, or opt to go out for food which would have helped with their capacity limits. I must stress this is not a complaint in anyway, all the staff were working as hard as they could, if not beyond and their effort is extremely appreciated in accommodation for us in a short turn around. The food was tasty and well proportioned, well worth the price.
The rooms were exactly what you need from a hotel, TV in the room, mirror, hairdryer, kettle, desk space, a large room with a double bed (very comfortable), towels and linen provided, as well as hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom was well equipped, large space, enough to fit 2 in the shower. The shower had a good power flow and was an enjoyable, refreshing shower too!
In the morning, the breakfast was served in a buffet style, and some of the staff from the previous night had offered to help in the morning given the unexpected increase in people.
Breakfast went very smoothly and all of the food was great quality.
Overall, the experience in general was positive, the staff displayed a great degree of adaptability and the rooms were excellent quality. I will definitely seek to stay at an ibis chain in any future travels given the experience here, and will recommend others to do so too.
To the three ladies (receptionist, bar m, and chef) who had the task of dealing with us dropped on them, I would like to say a massive thank you for your effort, and apologies for the extra stress it must have placed on you all, through your effort is definitely one of the key elements of our positive experience and I hope it doesn't go unnoticed.

This hotel is in a very good spot, especially if you want the Bonus Arena. A car park is right next door to it and only costs £3 for 24hr!!! Very clean, lovely comfy bed, tea/coffee facilities in the room and plenty of hot water for the shower. Breakfast had a good selection, which they kept topping up. Bar is open til late and snacks were available to order. All of the staff from checking in, serving at the bar, breakfast and checking out were super friendly and all happy to help in any way. Deffo will return when next in Hull.

Just visited the IBIS Hull for the 2nd time and I can honestly say these guys are punching well above there weight!
I asked if they would mind putting some flowers I had delivered in to the room ready for our arrival, they not only put the flowers in to the room for me they phoned me on the morning of our visit to see if they could do anything else for me for our celebration to which I thanked them and answered no.
However upon our arrival in the room they had left 2 complimentary mimi bottles of Prosecco on ice and sprinkled some love heart glitter around the base of the ice bucket and flowers vase that they had very kindly placed the flowers in.
Nick the night manager was fantastic and could not do enough for us including booking me a taxi at 3.30am as I was going to watch the boxing.
All in all a great stay and the service and hospitality for what would generally be described as a budget hotel is far and above that of some of the better hotels I have stayed at in the past.
Well done Team Ibis Hull and thank you to you all.

No £3 for 24hrs in multistorey carpark 50mts away
Sorry, my mistake - it was £3 for 24hr (not £6).
I'm afraid the room was booked for me, so I can't answer the question.
