    Autumn visit to the Lakes
    We stayed at the Salutation Hotel for part of our lakeland trip . It was a convenient location for South lakes exploration and is also central to Ambleside town. There were very nice short walks close to the hotel. The hotel was good but the room we had was a bit small for two people. The leisure centre and the restaurant were also good.…

    Good location for local walks and scenery
    It was our 2nd time staying at the salutation hotel, and it was as we remembered it. Lovely hotel, well equiped for guests, very friendly staff and exelent choice of food for breakfast and evening meals. Spa bath in bathroom, lovely and relaxing after a walk. Swimming pool, and spa facilities excellent. …

    Another Excellent Break at this Superb Hotel.
    We cannot recommend this hotel enough. The old building is fabulous. The quality and comfort is superb. All made special by the attention to detail and warm service from the staff. The food is excellent both breakfast and dinner. A home from home experience.

    What an enjoyable stay. The staff were absolutely brilliant for us. Helpful, courteous and so kind. The bar and lounge area had a lovely feel, so relaxed. The leisure facilities were top class, large pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, sauna were a real bonus. Highly recommended.

    What is the pool temperature? We would like to take our baby swimming when we visit in August.
    Hi apologies for delay hope I have caught you before your visit, ok for me but to be honest was swimming so not too bad may be a little cool for a little one.

    Can dogs stay in the hotel?
    Yes we have some dog friendly rooms in the hotel the Receptionsit will bw able to advise at time of booking.

    Which rooms have fridges please
    We stayed in room 406 in the adjacent lodge at the rear of the main building. The fridge, which was not stocked as a “bar”, contained two complimentary bottles of water and milk for tea/coffee. It was restocked every day.

    Yes it does....in fact the staff went out of their way to reserve a space for me.
