Very enjoyable 2 nights stay as base for outdoor activities. Our host Michael welcomed us and offered a hand with any luggage.A nice touch I can't remember being offered at any other B&B.The location is ideal being just a few minutes walk to centre of Ambleside on Rydal Road which saves any hassle with parking. The parking facilty was still available on...

My sister and I arrived on Sunday 4th October for two nights and were expecting better from the reviews we'd read on here. The room was very cold on arrival although the owner put the heating on once we were in the room, there was water left in the kettle (who knows how long it'd been there), we had to...

Owner is very friendly and social. On you arrival, a freshly baked chocolate cookie is waiting for you! Rooms are great, shower ok. Internet access is only through house computer, so no WIFI. B&B lies at border of Ambleside in a quite neighbourhood but still not far from restaurants and center. Nicolas

We have just returned from a 2 night break at meadowbank and it was a pleasant surprise. We had a nice double room at the back with lovely views, although dated, very functional and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice treat, good homemade cooking and plenty of it too. Very handy just on the outskirts of Ambleside but easy walking distance....

From the warm welcome, to the little touches of home- made biscuits in the room, and bottled water, air freshener in the en- suite, to amazing views from the window ( back facing over garden ) freshly cooked mini loaves on the table at breakfast, lovely cooked breakfast and veggie sausages and fruit tea available all just make this a...

No wifi but you are welcome to use the computer in the lounge.... If you have a lot of time to kill waiting for it to load. 5 minutes walk from...

I found Meadowbank on line priority searching for dog friendly as I had my collie with me. When I phoned to confirm I was told the dog could only go into my room, no where else, and then only when I was there. OK - I'll accept that. When I arrived I was told the gardens were 'out of bounds'...

Five minutes stroll to the north of Ambleside town centre I found this lovely guest house, almost hidden but on the main road. The owner is carrying out exterior maitainance but this does not detract from the interior. The single bedroom had ample space and the en suite was the same. Nice touches was the freshly made biscuit & the large...
