My mate booked this for us during a biking weekend, he didn't know the area and the name didn't give it away that it was at the top of a pass! Anyway, when we arrived the chap behind the bar was very welcoming, there are several different beers on offer which is great, the food was lovely, and the room...

The reason we came to ambleside was so we could walk up to this pub. So glad we chose todo it. Well earned drink and spot of lunch after climbing the struggle and the views are out of this world. Hope to come back in the future

Visited as part of a long weekend Lakes jaunt. Have visited Kirkstone Pass pub numerous times over the last 30 years and walked up Red Screes countless times but had never previously stayed over. Having stayed at Langdale the previous night was concerned this might have been a bit of a let down to new GF who had never previously...

Nice pub and good dishes in the middle of nowhere! I order a salmon pie it was ok, but the burger that my uncle ordered was absolutely amazing! It's like an oasi in the desert because all around there was anything!

This has got to be one of the best-located pubs in the country. Who wouldn't want to fall into it after a long walk on the fells? Great welcome, log fire, lots to choose from on the blackboards. Don't miss a pint of Kirkstone Black - locally brewed delicious dark mild ale.

We were cold hungry and thirsty so we popped in and i was amazed! The food was lovely and drinks were nice and chilled. The lady behind the bar was very polite despite the lemonade wasn't working but had backups & alternatives so no worries there. All in all very good and we will be visiting again.

How can you begin to describe at pub on the the top of a hill? Except that the (almost) highest pub in England accepted a coach load of passengers and ramblers at short notice at 10am due to poor weather conditions and were even less fazed when two other coaches arrived having seen the pub open! Fantastic and just goes...

Thought we would go in for lunch after walking up red scree opposite. Two over priced, processed burgers and fries. There are so many great places to eat in the lakes and maybe the lack of competition in this remote setting means they simply don't feel they need to bother to offer that bit extra or quality product. We won't...

It was snowing and blowing hard, when we arrived at what I believe to be the highest pub in Britain, to a lovely open fire and pint of real ale. Stop there every time we do the kirkstone pass and always will. Nice!!

We drove through heavy rain and fog to get to the Inn but thought it would be worth it. We arrived at about 12:30 only to find it in darkness and firmly closed we were so disappointed, we won't be going back!!!
