My husband and I decided to pop in for something to eat after a long walk. The place was fairly quiet. We ordered a fish finger sandwich and a sausage sandwich. The food was at best mediocre. Thankfully the pint went down well and as we were hungry we ate our lunch anyway but there are much better places to...

The food was reasonably priced but, when we complained that the meat was too tough and we were unable to cut it with the cutlery provided, the chef sent the waitress back out to tell us it was fine. He obviously didn't feel the customer worthy of his time or attention. The waitress, to her credit, brought a steak knife...

Suzie and myself came to stay in Ambleside for a night then go for a walk the morning after. The Queens Hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Ambleside and there was a parking spot round the back waiting for us. In the evening we looked around for somewhere to eat (plenty of 4-5 star venues) but after looking...

We were staying in Ambleside for 3 nights & visited Queens Hotel each evening for a meal. Having had & enjoyed a steak & ale pie on the 1st night I ordered the same on the 3rd (which was my birthday). I lifted the lid on the pie to reveal 1 piece of meat so as this was very disappointing...

Paid £75 per night including breakfast. Stayed in room 4 which was very small, clean enough but could have been better. Bed very uncomfortable, and room overall wasn't great. The bar and restaurant were nice, staff friendly and breakfast good, there were a few choices. Would stay again but request a different room.

Visiting this pub for a second time during our holiday. Great food, reasonably priced, good service. Cannot comment on the hotel side but the food was lovely, came out piping hot and didn't have to wait too long.

We decided to have our evening meal at The Queen's Hotel as the menu had a good selection and seemed reasonably priced....it also wasn't jam packed like some of the other places. I was served very cheerfully by Ashley who hadn't even had time to take off his coat .He easily changed the menus for us from chips to salad...

Stayed for a weekend with a group of friends for a birthday celebration On arrival the car park was full, but the manager moved his car in order for us to park Big Thanks! I think it`s just down to luck which kind of room you get on the day, (unless pre ordered?) ours was standard hotel room style ,...

Me and my girlfriend visited the Queen's Hotel for food on 02/01/2017 evening and we were so impressed with one of your colleagues, we just wanted to let you know how good he was, and actually competent, unlike most other colleagues in the service industry nowadays, we don't know his name, all we know is he wore glasses, great service...

We booked this hotel as an alternative to our usual Ambleside Hotel because we had seen a number of varied reviews but thought we would see for ourselves, we came to stay for the New Year Period, however I have say that in all my years of visiting Ambleside I have never stayed in such a disorganised, run down place...
