This guest house is in a great location being only a small walk from the centre of Ambleside. We booked a small double room and these rooms are very small however it was good value for money at only £55 including breakfast. The breakfast was good but the dining room is a little small and over crowded. We did not... More

Location perfect. Has parking, though a little tight but manageable and a bonus here! The staff/owner are friendly and attentive and the place is lovely and clean. Our room was at the top and the wifi was a bit hit and miss but it's available free and every now and then, it's good to get away from it isn't it??... More

We had an overnight stay here on a Uni visit trip to UK. This was a clean and comfortable B and B. It is really close to the centre of Ambleside. We would have liked to sample the breakfast but had to leave early for our next uni. Good value for money. We will be back.

we stayed for a one night midweek break for which we paid £49.50. For the money we paid, we didn't have anything to complain about. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and were allocated room 2 which is located at the rear of the building, which offers nice views. The premises also offer limited parking at the rear also.... We booked four double rooms for three nights over the New Year period. From the moment we arrived everything was great - a warm welcome, very clean rooms, comfy beds and pillows and a great breakfast. Perfectly located in the centre of Ambleside with parking at the back - which was brilliant as it was so busy everywhere it was... More

This is a lovely B&B! Room is clean and bed is very comfy. Very quiet too. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast was lovely however the tables were very close together but I expected this in a B&B. Parking is available at the back of hotel Location is great 1 min walk to pubs and shops! I would definitely go back!!!

Staying at Ferndale Lodge in Ambleside was the definitely the best choice I made. The location is absolutely central to shops, bars and the Glorious Lake Windermere - which is only a ten minute walk away. Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Ferndale has beautiful clean rooms, and Rob the proprietor makes you feel so welcome. The Breakfast served are to die... More

We stayed at the Ferndale Lodge in October. The room given to us was away from the main building at the back of the property. It was nice and quiet. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely. Great location. Just think that the rooms were average for the price paid. This did not stop us from getting out... More

We stayed at Ferndale Lodge in October and were very disappointed, considering all the favourable reviews it had received on this site. The heating in the rooms did not come on until 7pm so it was really cold when you came in from a walk and wanted a hot shower before going out to eat.. We complained but nothing happened.... More
