we stayed at the broughton craggs for two nights , great location for exploring the western lakes, the first room we were shown was a little small and my wife asked if we could move, the room we moved to was much larger, we were told the bathroom was being refurbished but it wasn't too bad, the hotel was very clean... My parents and I stayed at Broughton Craggs Hotel on our road trip around England and Scotland. It was easy to find and off the main road so a gorgeous little hideaway. Staff were a little quiet at first but soon we made friends and even got to have a play with their puppy. Rooms were large and clean with... More

Hotel was fine, room was clean, it was in a lovely setting, but staff were not friendly and the food dished up for dinner was awful.. For nearly £12 I would except it to be presented nice not throne on the plate, my husband sent his steak back 3 times and still could not chew the meat. The chips needed... More

Stopped here for two nights. The room we had was room 7 (twin).Although a little small it was fine.Beds very comfy, good tv.Window views were to the back. Plenty of parking,we always managed to park near front door.. Cannot comment on staff as we only saw one person, who was receptionist waiter ,barman etc.But he was great. The only downside was the... We stayed for four nights as it's on the door step of the lakes. Very nice place just outside Cockermouth. Ideally placed for main road links to coast or Keswick. We had room 5 and it was at the back. Very comfortable and clean. The staff were all helpful and friendly. We ate at the hotel each evening as the... More

A very well located hotel to explore The Lakes, we booked through a Groupon deal and used the hotel for 1 night. Lovely gardens and a freshly cooked breakfast got us set for the day of exploring. Would definitely stay here again when in the lakes as it is in great location. Stayed July 2015

Stayed for one evening at this very attractive hotel in scenic surroundings and had no complains whatsoever. The hotel boasts good all-round facilities, clean and comfortable room (although bathroom a little small), excellent home-cooked food with sizeable portions, staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Would very much recommend!

Great views, beautiful wildlife and even the four poster bed was very comfortable. The hotel is situated in a perfect location. This is a nicely located hotel in beautiful grounds with outdoor seating. It's in close proximity to Cockermouth, a pretty town. We stayed on a Saturday night but we were alone eating our meal at 7.pm. which was a shame as we didn't see anyone apart from when our meal was brought in and no contact after that in the... More
