I have stay 4 times and find something new each time I visit. If you like "Shire Horses" you will this place, they breed Clydesdales. Its out of Cockermouth so you will need a car but if you want a drink you can always get one of the local taxis.

Wonderful views of the western fells . Very smart hotel with all the facilities you would expect . Breakfast was one of the best we've ever had , plenty of choice and all cooked to order . Not all the rooms have good views , we had room 8 which had a view of a flat roof .

The hotel is beautiful and set in a stunning location. What lets it down is the terrible food and terrible service. My chicken was like a lump of hard plastic and the mash was even worse. Wouldn't recommend this place at all after this.

We booked the hotel last minute and were absolutely delighted with our stay of 2 nights. We stayed in room 27, which has a balcony and overlooks a meadow with sheep and new lambs wandering around and an amazing view west over the hills, the view was stunning. Our room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Each member of staff...

I stayed here for two nights for a friends wedding. Stunning views all around made for some great pictures. Food was great - we ate at the hotel both the night before the wedding and on the big day. Staff were very helpful and let us re-arrange dinner at short notice to accommodate. Food for the wedding itself was brilliant...

Stayed at Hundith Hill for a family birthday and was very impressed. The grounds are lovely and the staff were very attentive all weekend. Drinks were reasonably priced for a remote hotel at about £4 per pint and £4 for a glass of Prosecco. For my evening meal I had the fish cakes to start that were served with a...
