I spent one night at this hotel, which is situated adjacent to the River Derwent and offers its own car parking. The room appeared to have been refurbished recently, to a very good standard. The bathroom was of a good size, the bed was very comfortable and I was very happy with the room. We ate both dinner and breakfast....

Stayed here a few times on business and always looked forward to my next visit. Had been given large comfortable executive rooms previously, as per company agreed rate, but given the smallest, single bedroom in the hotel tonight. Travelodge rooms are twice the size of this. On arrival on a hot May evening the central heating in the room and...

We went to Cumbria on a golfing trip last week and stayed 3 nights at the Trout Hotel. The hotel is amazing all the rooms are well finished. We had 20 in our party and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The restaurant and food were equally impressive each night a section of the dining room was partioned...

Our first visit since the Hotel has been refurbished since the flooding last year. All the refurbishments done to a very high standard. The food, accommodation and staff were excellent, we were made very welcome and enjoyed our small break. We have promised ourselves another visit soon!

Got a last minute deal, room very large with view of the river. Recently decorated and very clean inside. Didn't try the restaurant, great location plenty of little pubs in easy walking distance. Would definately stay again but not worth full room rate.

Couldn't believe our eyes when the waiting on staff brought out a tiered cake stand for each of us. Five finger sandwiches with a coffee cup of soup, two scones with jam and clotted cream, Victoria sponge slice (actually a huge thick triple decker slice), and a selection of individual puddings and as much tea to drink as you want....

Our second visit, and it did not disappoint. Been to various hotels in the surrounding Area. This is far the best for afternoon tea. Three tiers of mouth watering food, service excellant , staff so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. 5 stars from all of us. Our day ended in the garden in front of the immaculate gardens and...

We stayed here overnight when we were travelling back down from a trip to Scotland. The hotel decor is very nice and the room was very comfortable. Everything seemed very clean and the staff were courteous and efficient. The breakfast was a stand out as it was really nice food and again the service was efficient despite it being a...
