Helpful and friendly hosts. Comfortable room 3 at front but little noise from main road so an excellent nights sleep in very comfortable bed. Good breakfast and only 10 minutes stroll in Grasmere. Absolutely nothing negative.

We booked this only a few days before we went and so we weren't expecting much. When we got there we were warmly greeted by the owner, Mike, who was warm and friendly. We were taken to room 6 and we were so pleased with it. The room is so tastefully decorated, well appointed and had a high end finish.... More

We took a short break at Chestnut Villa which was fantastic. We stopped in room 3 at the back of the property which had amazing views of Helm Crag. The room was an ideal size for what we wanted with an en suite shower room and was nicely decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable!! The owner was very helpful and... More

5-10 min walk to Grasmere (mostly path). Fantastic views in all directions- sunsets out the back. Beautiful decor. We stayed in the superior room with an enormous shower and roll top bath. Couldn't fault the place. Several parking spaces. Lovely breakfast room. We will be definitely be going back. Thanks Mike and co.

Lovely place to stay, with a large bathroom & walk in shower. Mike made us feel very welcome & served a lovely breakfast. Our room 6. had very good views of the fells around Grasmere village, which is only a 10-15 minute walk from the B&B.

Stayed here in October 2016. I picked it because it was the least expensive on booking.com. It was a great place to stay very modern decor, very clean, friendly staff, fantastic location and a really good breakfast. Will say again. Thanks for making it a comfortable stay.

Stayed here on our C2C walk. There were five of us and we stayed in 3 rooms. All rooms were modern, fully stocked, and extremely clean. Mike (the owner) was gracious and helpful. He dried our boots (which was no small task), helped with dinner plans (the White Swan which is nearby was excellent), and cleaned our laundry. We were... More

Visited this B&B whilst walking the C2C. This was one of our rest days so we stayed at the Chestnut Lodge for two nights. Host were very accommodating and offered to do our laundry for a very reasonable ENG7.00. Rooms were comfortable and warm and well laid out and from what I could tell recently renovated. A short walk to... More
