Firstly, I picked up Grasmere simply because it is located at the center of the Lake District, and it was perfectly right for hiking and visiting other spots. Secondly, I picked up this hotel from a travel guide book without any particular reason. As I was reading the reservation confirmation I was a kind of bothered a little bit for...

This hotel provides you with a food experience you will rarely get, every single meal was prepared and presented with thought and detail. We stayed for 3 nights and every night there was something different on. Though the room needed a little more attention this was more than outweighed by the food and of course to fabulous lake district.

We spent two nights at the hotel and it did not disappoint. The welcome was warm and homely, the food was fantastic as was the service. The rooms were comfortable and well furnished. We would highly recommend this hotel.

I took my wife to Grasmere for her birthday, and what a great place to choose. After reading the reviews on trip advisor, were pleased to say they were spot on. The hotel itself is close to the centre with ample parking. The owners were very pleasant. As we had left it late booking there was only 1 room available which was...

We spent 4 nights here half board in May. We used to stay at the Youth Hostels in our student days, so this was quite a step up! The double rosette for food was what really attracted our attention, and it certainly did not disappoint. What a choice of menu for breakfast, not to mention beautifully designed and tasty dinners,...

Stayed for 4 nights. The food was first class and the service excellent. Stayed on my own but was made to feel most welcome. The room was very comfortable. The only downside was that I would have preferred a bath to a shower but other than this I would highly recommend a stay there. Although the hotel fronts onto the...

My husband booked this last minute on Friday to arrive on Saturday. We have stayed many times before at this hotel and yet again a wonderful weekend, we both can't praise this hotel enough, the welcome we always receive is warm and friendly, the rooms individual and very well appointed, lovely decor and wouldn't look out of place in an...

We spent 3 nights as a short break during half term, with friends, and were not disappointed. The welcome was warm, everything decorated to a high standard. Rooms were small but very clean and comfortable and the food was stunning. It was worthy of a top restaurant and we could not fault it- incredible value. We are highly likely to...

On our first stay here (just 2 nights - half board) we were very impressed by this small, friendly hotel. The bar area and conservatory restaurant were very comfortable and spacious, and the food and service excellent. Our bedroom was small, but very comfortable and spotless, and enhanced by a large balcony, which would have been great in better weather....

Excellent small hotel in the centre of Grassmere. Very comfortable, individually styled rooms, and a great welcome from the owners who like to make you feel "at home". Wonderful locally sourced food imaginatively prepared by a kitchen that cares!
