For a taste of luxury in the glorious heart of lakeland. Set deep in the heart of Wordsworth country, our Lake District Hotel, traditionally an historic inn playing host to travellers since 1769, offers you a warm, genuinely hospitable welcome that makes you feel instantly at ease and at home as soon as you step through the door. Idyllically situated right in the centre of Grasmere, with magnificent views of the hills all around, you can enjoy being part of village life one minute and the next, be miles away, with just the fresh air and glorious open countryside for company. Here, life is beautiful. Our service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere relaxed. At our home we provide you with all you could wish for - beautifully appointed bedrooms, an excellent choice of food, a gorgeous indoor heated pool with spa bath, sauna and fitness room.

If Trip Advisor had the option to put good I would have done good rather than very good. The stay was certainly not average but with some very simple changes could have been very good to outstanding. The decor was Christmas in a bottle! Everywhere you looked the inn was

Stayed 3 nights, room was clean & bed comfortable, had a lovely view to the fells. It was quiet at night & we weren’t disturbed in any way. Breakfast was excellent, very quick service, good choice & piping hot. We ate twice in the 1769 bar/restaurant- had pizza both nights

Twelve of us stayed for 2 nights, 7 adults & 5 children. From the initial enquiry to departure the customer service was excellent. The hotel has a fantastic location and has been renovated to a very high standard, in keeping with the property and location. The bar and restaurant

We loved our stay here . The food they serve is so nice and tasty . The room we had was clean , lovely and stylish . The staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant. Car parking not an issue but it is low season. Cleaners start cleaning before 8 which I think is a little bit too

Hi Sarah I had a complaint back in Easter and nobody responded so I sent again as I like everything in writing The response was very matter of fact and left me very upset I left a review on here and didn't respond we have stayed here 6 times and I will never ever return the staff were so miserable it was depressing apart from the lovely French man on reception I not sure if it's been took over but the standards have definitely changed and I honestly don't think they care and are very inexperienced I would keep perusing it and may be post a letter and call I tried to find a owner but couldn't seem to online I can also recommend the daffodil at grasmere we went in August and the total opposite to the inn the staff couldn't do enough for you Hope this helps you C

Hi. Yes plenty of dogs all sizes and breeds stayed in the rooms. I believe its extra cost to have your dog stay about £20/ night.
