The hotel is located within walking distance of a variety of activities. It was nice to be welcomed upon check in by the manager. There are a variety of areas within the hotel where once can relax. The rooms are located on multiple levels but the directions are clearly marked. The staff is enthusiastic and eager to be helpful.

We stay regularly here and consistently find the staff friendly and very attentive. It's a cosy hotel with log fires in the lounge and bar areas. For those without dogs, the Executive rooms are well worth the upgrade. The menu is relatively plain and perhaps a few more vegetables wouldn't go amiss at the prices charged, but meals are well presented, traditional and...

We stayed here for a last minute one night break. We chose it because of it's location and that it is also dog friendly. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of grasmere. Our room was adequate for one night but unfortunately the shower was really poor. No pressure and either really hot or really cold. Would stay...

We have stayed a few times at The Swan and never been disappointed. This is the first time with our dog and he was made to feel as welcome as any of the human guests. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you and the breakfasts are the best. Highly recommended hotel

We had a family room which was ideal having grandchildren was beautifully decorated with large bathroom and ample wardrobe space. The staff were friendly and very helpful and courteous at all times. The food was well prepared and very enjoyable with a good selection with a children's menu if required. The breakfast bar was well stocked with a good selection...

After several years of being ripped off, (my partner loves it though) this year the Swan is greatly improved. It has had a bit of a facelift and the garden has more outdoor seating. It also has stunning views. Maybe is different management (A Mr P) this time. Definitely different staff of about 8 Nationalities, all excellent who served us,...

We called into this pub for a drink after a long walk as family of four including 2 children. Decent pint of draft ale, and the cider very good too. We were welcomed by friendly staff and made to feel welcome. After ordering our drinks we settled in a snug, comfortable room where we could relax after a long walk....

Lovely weekend. The hotel was very busy but the service in the restaurant was excellent even so. And I got a free upgrade to a king-size room! A very nice hotel in a lovely location close to Grasmere village centre
