Along with 2 friends, I stayed at Bridge House on Saturday 6th June, 2015 at the end of 4 days of enoyable walking along the Dales Way. In fact, our walk finished at Burneside, a couple of miles away, and, weary as we were, Sheila came to pick us up. Bridge House was the best accommodation we stayed in along...

Shila and Alan gave us a warm welcome when we finally arrieved a late Saturday evening in May. We were walking The Dales Way and had an accident which ended up with a broken wrist. We were so glad that we had booked a room at Bridge House, - Alan picked us up at the hospital 40 minutes away, -...

Stayed at Bridge House as the last stop on our Dalesway walk. So convenient to be picked up from the walk itself by Sheila, but soon realised that this type of attention is typical of the care she takes to ensure that her guests have all they could possibly want. Beautifully appointed double room, large residents' lounge, wonderful home baked...

Just returned from a great weekend at Bridge House where we were made very welcome by Sheila and her lovely family. Room was spotless, very nice furnishings and bed very comfortable, great selection for breakfast including homemade bread, jams, grapefruit, cereals, cooked breakfast etc. Lots of advice on where to go, how to get there from our great host Sheila....

We were just in Kendal for the one night and, one arrival, we (my wife and I and our two daughters) were royally welcomed by the lovely Sheila into her lovely homely, comfortable home. Very comfortable rooms with many little touches making Bridge House excellent value. After an extremely comfortable night's sleep, the breakfast was wonderful - juice, fresh fruit,...

I stayed in the twin room with my friend for one night, mid-way through a walking holiday. The house itself is charming and well-cared for. The room we stayed in was beautifully furnished, complete with William Morris wallpaper and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was lovely - think well-cooked, quality produce. Also, the owner host was very nice and friendly. It's...

Was made most welcome on arrival by Sheila and Alan, I have family in Kendal but Sheila said it didn't matter what time I arrived but informed her it would be around 9pm. I had met Alan before and was most surprised that he remembered me, Sheila showed me to a twin bedded room with en suite shower room, it...

just back from a couple of nights staying with Sheila and Alan where we had a fabulous stay. This is a lovely B&B situated close to the centre of Kendal but quiet and peaceful. Spacious en suite room and spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast with local produce served family style, very relaxed way to start the day. what makes this place...

My wife and I had 2nights in this fantastic B&B in Kendal. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Excellent advice on where to go and how to get there. Amazing breakfast of locally sourced produce. Now, I am lactose intolerant which does occasionally cause a small issue in the kitchen, but not here; Sheila just did anything that...

Three couples stayed here during our 7 day Dales Way hike. It had poured rain all day, and we were soaked. Sheila and her husband took all our wet clothes, and any other clothes that needed washing, and laundered them for us, and put our wet hiking shoes by the heater to dry. The rooms were clean and well decorated,...
