We have stayed at Hillside 3 times now and would not stay anywhere else. The breakfast is top notch and fills you up for the whole day. Our room this time was the twin (only room available) it has a brand new ensuite, according to Wendy & Richard they had a leak so the whole ensuite has been upgraded and...

My wife and i have just enjoyed another fabulous few days at Hillside in Kendal. It is our 3 visit and second review. We were staying to see a concert at the brewery arts centre which is just a short walk away. We really like the new front steps and hand rail and as usual Wendy cooks a first class...

I slept over at the Hillside B & B on business. The staff gave me a warm welcome, showed me to my room and was lovely. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, the room was warm and the shower was great. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided in the room as well as fluffy towels. Access to free...

Just a perfect place to stay away from home. I loved everything: the staff, the service, the comfort, the food, the accommodation itself and most especially the cleanliness! Also, dining utensils were clean - I'm very particular with this and yes, I was impressed!

Expect a warm welcome from Wendy and Richard. The moment you enter through a distinctive front door, the excellent standard and finish of the property is evident. The rooms are spotless, great finish and provide an excellent nights sleep. Richard and Wendy provide a wealth of information and local knowledge.

Terrible steep hill, it is not called Hillside without good reason. Very hard to find once you reach Beast Banks, you see a gate with 1 to 5 written on it so you expect to find 4, Hillside, there. Yet what you get is the need for a phonecall as place is way way up on opposite side of the...

Clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast, but the local knowledge and helpfulness of the the host, Richard, was what made this B&B outstanding. He warned us that the pub we were planning to walk to for lunch at didn't serve food on Sundays and suggested another that did, suggested booking at a recommended restaurant if we planned to have an evening...
