Just spent 2 nights here, requested a quiet room and that.s what I got. Didn't hear anyone the first night but 2nd night, people slamming doors to their rooms around 1am. What is wrong with people? Why can't they close doors quietly???? Single room is of a decent size, bed comfy-ish but cheap furniture but as it.s only 2 star...

A lovely welcoming hotel. Michael the manager and Anne his assistant were wonderful. My single room was clean and had good new furniture. No view unfortunately. The menu was very good, Each of the three courses for the evening meal had four options, different every day, tasty and well-cooked. Excellent for such a modestly-priced holiday.

Stayed for one night got a cheap deal it stated parking on the website but when we arrived there was parking for 3 cars only outside the hotel or pay 5 pounds per day the room we had was very basic in need of an upgrade paper coming off wall and window a bit crafty but I will say the...

I was instantly transported back to 1975 when I unlocked the door of my twin room at the County Hotel! If you are nostalgic for melamine, plywood and plastic, this is the place for you! The tiny TV was activated by a switch on a "Rediffusion" console (company ceased to exist in 1988). The telephone handset was vintage British Telecom...

back today with national holidays, from long weekend. Had a great time, ideal hotel for lakes. Hotel dated, and could do with some improvements, but room clean and tidy the food was tasty and plentiful, and the staff were friendly and cheerful, even waving us off today, they made the stay. Prices for drinks were respectable for a hotel. Even...

Fantastic Friendly staff. Food unbelievable far better than some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. Rooms very clean with tea making facilities. The bonus for us was having a bath to use. The General Manager Michael made us feel so welcome, nothing was to much trouble.

In many ways you get what you pay for. We paid £63 for a room and breakfast for two people for one night. This is considerably cheaper than most other places in Kendal and was value for money. The room was in need of some repair as the moulding around the bath was faulty and in places the wallpaper was...

My Husband and I stayed here for an event we were attending In Kendal. We paid £60 for a room for 1 night . Well I use the word room but there was very little of it. I think it had been a broom cupboard in a past life. The radiator was on full blast and no way to turn it...

We were not sure what to expect with this hotel and were very happy when we were greeted with such a kind and welcoming arrival. The rooms are a but dated (It is an old hotel) and no wifi in our room but with such great hospitality it was over looked and I only add these small criticisms for the...
