We stayed at West Barn just for one night in August 2014. The accommodation is totally rural and whisper quiet apart from a baa from the odd sheep which is lovely. There is also a pub a short walk away so it's not totally without facilities. Sue was lovely and really attentive to our needs. The accommodation was 100% immaculate...

A wonderful bed and breakfast in Kendal. Some many of the lovely things about this B & B have already been written. It is such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay with a real touch of luxury throughout our time there. Breakfast was amazing with so much choice. Brilliant sums it up. Peaceful, welcoming, comfortable, excellent breakfasts, brilliant location and a really genuine welcome from Sue. Only stayed one night on our way to camp in the lakes but hope to come back on a future visit. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We have stayed at a lot of places but this is probably the best! Sue is such a great communicator and genuinely friendly caring and passionate person. The whole experience of booking, finding, staying and leaving was beyond smooth. Lovely big spotless room within a converted barn in a tucked away farm. The beds were so good I checked the...

We stayed at West Barn on a last minute weekend getaway, to escape the city and get some fresh countryside air. We were so lucky that a room was available for our stay and we were given a lovely warm welcome by Sue. Our room was large, but very cosy, with a lovely selection of teas and some delicious homemade...

Another delightful stay at West Barn - Sue her usual warm and welcoming self, the bed as beautifully comfortable as we remember, the homemade cake and biscuits just as special. This is a lovely place to stay when visiting The Lakes - close enough for them to be easily accessible but far away from the teeming tourists! Looking forward to...

This is a truly special b&b; tucked away in the hills around Kendal surrounded by wildlife and a few farm animals. It was a real treat to meet and help feed the owners own mini flock of sheep and chickens, and the very grand Rocky the rooster. The room was beautifully presented with some scrummy home made banana cake waiting...

As for Sue, well, she is such a warm, genuine, people loving person and we got on so well that we even went out for dinner together even although I only met her that day !!! Next time I am in the Lake District, I will certainly...

Used this B&B as an overnight stop on the way to the Commonwealth Games and did we find a gem in the Lake District's crown. The room was perfect a massive 6 foot super kingsize bed which was wonderfully comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. As you would expect, kettle and tea and coffee etc supplied but the...
