I stayed here during this year's Lakes International Comic Art Festival and was thoroughly impressed. Great room (and quiet) with all amenities, including useful WiFi. Breakfasts were smashing and you really got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble for owners Philippa and Peter. The guest house is just 20 minutes walk from the town centre for me and... We have been visiting the Lake District for many years now - at least three times a year - and we believe we have finally found the best B&B in town! As soon as we walked through the doors of Philippa and Peter’s beautiful home, we were welcomed in a wonderfully warm and friendly way. We instantly felt relaxed and... More

Immaculately kept house and rooms, great size room with very comfortable bed, comprehensive breakfast offering (including amazing cooked breakfast) and very friendly and welcoming hosts. Would recommend to anyone if you don't mind being a little bit away from the centre of Kendal, but it's very near the train station too.

Second year we've stayed with Peter and Phillipa. Wonderful warm welcome, lovely room and comfy bed and everything you could possibly want available for breakfast all beautifully cooked and presented. Homemade biscuits on the tea tray in room a lovely touch. Couldn't do enough for us including drying wet motorbike gear! Will definitely stay again.

On arriving at Ash Meadows our hosts Philippa and Peter made us very welcome , we stayed for three nights our room was very clean and tidy. This was the same every time we returned from our travels around the aria. Due to the damp weather we had there was no problem with wet cloths as a room was provided... More

Small place at the end of the town, beautifully done up, clean to the the extent you'd want to wash your hands before you touch anything. Things are very organised, meticulously laid out. A very classy English home. Peter and Phillipa were an awesome host, never once we felt we were in a new place, you feel so welcome and... More

We stayed for four nights in May. Right from the first moment it was obvious that we had chosen the right accommodation for our stay in the Lake District. Our hosts, Philippa and Peter, were very welcoming and friendly from the outset. Everything in the house was spotlessly clean. Our en-suite room was one of the most comfortable we have... More

A little gem of a place on the edge of the Lake District, a real home from home. It's a short walk into Kendal and a perfect location for exploring the Lake District.
