We loved our stay here (a last minute long weekend in November) and found the house warm and welcoming with unique and tasteful décor. The kitchen was fully equipped with a nice welcome basket including some delicious biscuits! Cosy log burning fire. Lovely light house with the most amazing view. Would definitely return and very much recommend.

Delightful b&b set in a tiny village in the Lake District, about 15 mins drive from Kendal, down small country lanes. A great base for exploring the area, with several pubs for dinner within driving distance and one within walking distance. Lovely views from the b&b and being on a small road it was very quiet. Rooms decorated with flair... More

Stayed 3 nights. Good location, peaceful countryside with stunning view. About 15 minutes drive to lake windermere. We were in the westmorland room as we needed twin beds. Spacious room on first floor, very comfortable. En suite shower room is a bit of a tight fit, but clean and new. Wifi is a little ropey. Breakfast was top notch, either... More

Many thanks for leaving us a review and we're really glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies about the wifi, we've struggled with it as it is such an old house with very thick stone walls, but the good news is we have finally managed to find a solution and coverage is now much better :) Best wishes to you both... Stayed here for 2 nights recently with my daughter and our two dogs. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is so lovely and lots of attention is paid to the small details which combine to create the style and ambiance of the house and to show that the owners really care about how we experience our stay. The breakfast... More

Stayed one night with a business colleague for one night in September. Was recommended the place by a local resident and was more than happy with the choice! Was greeted by Sam the owner and shown to a twin room on the first floor. The house is a large and rather grand Georgian property and very well presented. A very... More

We absolutely loved our stay at Crosthwaite House. We were warmly welcomed by Sam. The rooms are gorgeous, the breakfast scrumptious, the treats at the front door delicious and the view breathtaking. We went to Lake Windermere for the day and had ordered a packed lunch to take - it was great. Amazingly beautiful and peaceful surroundings. We would definitely... More

We had been booked into the nearby Brown Horse at Winster but to cut a long story short there was a problem with the room due to drains resulting in us being moved at 11pm. Big thanks to the Crosthwaite House!! A truly lucky find. The room was spotlessly clean and quiet and the Breakfast was of a high standard... More

We spent almost a week there in July and it was so relaxing. The view from our bedroom window was amazing. They are a lovely family that run the B&B and the small touches such as homemade cake left each day add to a very pleasant stay.
