There are clearly lots of good b & bs in Keswick but you will struggle to find one better than this - we arrived a little early and although John said our room wasn't read, he gave us the key so we could let ourselves in when we came back from a walk. Well off the main road but easy... More

We loved Kewick and this b&b was perfect location. Rooms and breakfast was great and off street parking a big bonus. We hiked two days and were able to walk everywhere we needed to. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We did the Derwentwater circuit, Catbells, Skiddaw, Walla crag walks, all on foot from this location, without the need to use the car. There are 5 rooms in... More

We visited the Abacourt House for four nights in late August with another couple to sample the Lake District as part of a visit to Scotland and northern England. We chose Abacourt House at Rick Steves’ recommendation and we are glad that we did. John and Heather are most welcoming, helpful hosts. For example, John was able to retrieve a... More

We had 2 days to spare and gave John a quick ring to check availability. We got the last spare room for the Thursday before Bank Holiday. We had one of the smaller rooms at the rear, but very comfortable and clean. Off street parking and 2 minutes walk from the town centre make it an excellent base. Excellent choice of... More

We booked this last October after review many B&B's in the area. We were not disappointed; we had our choice of full breakfast with eggs (any style) bacon, sausage, roasted tomatoes, fruit etc; coffee, tea & juices. John & Heather were the perfect friendly hosts!
