I was really looking forward to my week in the boat house and although the location lived up to its billing as it was amazing, the accommodation itself didn't, my main gripes being no fridge,no wifi not good enough for the price of this Boat House.

We were very excited to be staying at The Boat House as we've visited Keswick on a number of occasions and always thought it was the perfect location, especially for a winter break when there are not so many tourists about. The place itself is in a fantastic location and the scenery is amazing but that's where it stops for...

Cannot fault location of boat house - scenery stunning. BUT were unhappy with the following: - place was not clean -accumulated dust from weeks, cobwebs everywhere, shower had debris on floor, table had apple stalk left from previous guests, whole property needed a proper spring clean. - furniture was dated and décor tired (could have lived with this if it...

From thedescription, we were expecting a luxury accommodation with a remarkable location. What we actually experienced included the following; The boat house is generally in a run down condition - threadbare carpets, worn out settees (nice smell of wet dogs). The carpets were a particular issue as they posed a serious accident hazard in the area of the steps -...

This was our second time at the boathouse. First time was very good. However, the boat is still advertised but has been removed/unavaliable. There is currently building working ongoing over the road/next door (National Hertitage building works) - therefore noisy all day. The owner also booked a builder to start repairs on the roof while we were staying there! Views...

We stayed in late 2005 and again in 2008. I proposed to my now wife there and it is a very special place for us. The other reviews are crazy, one complained about paving being done off the property, it's unfortunate, but what can any owner do about this? Another complained about substandard coat hangers... Just mental, people need to...

We stayed at the Boat House in November, the interior was better than the photographs on the website, which was a pleasant surprise. However it was a busy area when we arrived on the Saturday and also Sunday. The beams were a lot lower than we had imagined and we did bang ourselves quite a few times in the week....

We are very private and prefer to avoid crowds so this should've been our worst nightmare - it wasn't. We adored the quirky house and had no problems with the beams. My husband is 6'2 and didn't bang his head once - it's really not that hard to look where you're going. If you don't like charming features, quirky buildings...

What a lovely place the Boat house is. Only five minutes walk from the Town centre. Nice little drive to leave the car on and get on with the activities. We did walking/mountain biking alternately each day. The area next to the property is a little noisey from around 8.30am onwards when the men are preparing the boats to be...

After looking though the vast amount of accomodations the Lake District has to offer we were recommended to this Beautiful boat house by regular visitors. - We were not disapointed, The Property is just what you would expect from a lovely town such as Keswick and from the moment we arrived we felt such a tranquility, the Lake laps at...
