Just spent four nights here. The service was excellent, rooms comfortable and spotless, breakfasts well cooked, plentiful and lots of choice. The hosts, Richard and Christine, were extremely friendly and helpful. The guesthouse is a short walk from the centre and the lake, parking was fine and the streets quiet. Highly recommended and if we return to Keswick, no where...

We have just returned from 3 nights stay at Ferndene. Richard and Christine have been wonderful hosts. The rooms are spotless and tastefully decorated and the breakfasts are the best we've had, exceptional. They are happy to cater for gluten free guests. I was impressed with all the choices!! Lovely hosts, our room was extremely comfortable and cosy. Great breakfasts, especially for my husband who is a coeliac, nothing was any trouble, sets you up for the day. A very pleasant visit, our room which overlooked the church grounds, was modern, light and airy. The breakfast was very good and parking conveniently placed at the rear of the house.The Lake and Town Centre were a short walk away.

Lovely warm welcome, excellent guest house with great owners. The location is absolutely perfect, a couple of minutes into town yet quiet, and opposite a lovely church with views of the mountains behind (room 5). Just arrived back from weekend at Keswick staying at the Ferndene hotel. We new our room would be small when booked however it was lovely and had everything you needed. Lovely thick towels and crisp bedding, very clean and newly decorated. We arrived early so went around Keswick before checking in. Lovely warm welcome of Christine who showed us around...

Ferndene Guest House is quietly situated a short stroll from the centre of the beautiful market town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park We are the perfect base to enjoy the magnificent scenery whether you wish to walk, cycle and explore the huge range of outdoor activities available nearby or simply to relax in comfort and get away from it all for a relaxing or romantic break. Ferndene Guest House is a pleasant ten minute walk from the Derwentwater lakeshore with its stunning views, boating, lake steamers and the famous Theatre by the Lake. Our traditional Victorian guest house has been comprehensively refurbished while still retaining much of its original character and, with our modern Annexe conveniently located next to our car park (providing free off road parking), has been carefully decorated in a modern style throughout. Rooms in the main house offer magnificent views of the mountains, with our exclusive top floor Suite giving panoramic views over Keswick and the fells. After a restful night's sleep in one of our tastefully furnished bedrooms enjoy a relaxing start to the day with breakfast served in our comfortable dining room overlooking the garden and St. John's Church.
