A long bank holiday weekend was spent here. Great location and a cute old inn. Naturally the decor and bathrooms are a bit dated but it didn't matter as it was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were fine but not amazing, the buffet selection was quite poor but there was enough to chose from on the menu that was all...

We had lunch here two out of three days and it was excellent. It is a beautiful pub and very relaxing. We split the Ploughmans lunch was a very generous amount of local cheese, wonderful ham and a fresh baquette. Really very good. The next day we had venison pie which was also terrific. Nice staff too.

The George is a very old, attractive inn in a great central location in Keswick, nicely maintained throughout and with good, modern facilities. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with an excellent en-suite bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely old-world charm in the pub downstairs, best of all serving Jennings beer! Good breakfasts in the restaurant,...

The only irritation with this hotel is the lack of parking. After a long drive we were told there was no room at the inn and had to drive around Keswick looking for the long-stay car park. Apart from that it's faultless – the breakfasts were superb; the room was comfortable and characterful at the same time; the location is...

During a week in Kesswick we ate here twice and would definitely recommend. Great service and food, especially the mackerel pate, fish pie and the cow pie if you are hungry! This is a busy restaurant/Pub so you have to book.

Friends had been here before and suggested we try the pie. The pie was a great hit and also the posh fish fingers which I got in a baguette, yum! Dogs were welcome inside. Really nice old style pub inside, super nice staff. Great prices on food and drinks. Would re visit again!

Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Food very good and large portions. Room was large and very clean. Bar was very very busy all nights, but that is...

Had a lovely meal there last week and food was really good and the staff very polite and friendly especially Jess. The restaurant is very roomy and bright and menu selection was good with plenty to chose from. Will definitely return again sometime.

Went to The George, would recommend booking because it was extremely busy for a Monday night, nice varied menu to cater for all, Whitebait starter followed by a mixed grill, as you can imagine no space for a sweet, food nicely presented and waitresses very attentive.
