Everything about this hotel is done with careful attention to detail, from the housekeeping to the food. Nick, the manager, runs the place with great enthusiasm which shows, the bedroom (2) has a glorious view of Derwent water especially when the sun is shining. All the furnishings has been chosen with flair, colours that match. The housekeeping is extremely good...

This week I took a party of 10 people to stay at the Highfield for a reunion lasting 3 nights. I've stayed here twice before and have always been delighted with the service I received. The hotel is an easy walk away from Keswick town centre, with its own good sized car park, and its lakeside bedrooms have wonderful views...

As part of a group of ten we recently stayed at this hotel on a BB & EM basis. Despite inclement weather the hotel proved to be of a very high standard, spotlessly clean and the quality of the restaurant food was excellent. The staff were also always extremely helpful. All in all a most enjoyable visit. Highly recommended.

Stayed for a few nights recently at The Highfields, situated close to the Town centre and a 5 minute walk to The Derwentwater the Hotel is in a cracking position. On arrival we were showed to our room [17],the view is stunning and though the room is completely different to the picture shown on the website it was very clean and...

Smallish hotel, classically decorated. Bit of a climb to the room but worth it as it had a stunning view of the lake and surrounding hills. Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Bit of a wait for our evening meal but when it came it was absolutely first class. Centre of town is less than 5 mins walk away. If...

Thoroughly enjoyed a three-night stay at the Highfield Hotel. Our room (16) had a bay window with views of the mountains and Derwentwater in the distance -- fabulous! The staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful and the food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious. There are many hotels and restaurants in the Lake District -- but please don't miss this one!

We don't usually book hotels in busy towns, preferring the quieter outskirts & villages but having looked at the hotels website we liked the look of the accommodation & menus so thought we'd give The Highfield a try & booked 2 nights. The location was surprisingly quiet, over looking the park which runs down to Derwentwater. You would forget you...

This is a very pleasant hotel overlooking the parkland and down towards Derwent Water. Our room (20) was clean and comfortable. The food is very nice, although there are lots of good pubs and restaurants in the town that are also worth trying. Staff were friendly and generally helpful throughout our stay. The free car park for residents is very...

Stayed two nights at the Highfield and weren't disappointed. As the title suggests, we got room 16 which had distant views of the Derwent Water lake and surrounding fells and it was beautiful. Note that room 16 is on the second floor, and there is one more floor above which I'm guessing will have even better views. Some reviewers commented...

I can't recommend the place highly enough. The staff are so super friendly and helpful and the food is to die for! This is our second time staying (used to stay here regaulary as a child when Mr & Mrs Jordan owned it), and we just can't fault it, it's gone from strength to strength. We drove over 5 hrs...
