We had the Woodford 'room', which is an underwhelming description of what you got. Described as a converted chapel, it is a large room with windows down each side. In the centre of the room is a raised area with chairs table and TV. At the far end of the room is a huge, comfortable, carved bed. The en-suite is...

We booked on Friday for Saturday night and got the last available room. We were informed we wouldn't have a view so we weren't disappointed. We were on the ground floor ( Room11) which was at the back of the hotel, was quiet, well-appointed with a comfy bed, lovely shower room (with toiletries), etc. Breakfast was cooked to order which...

Visiting the Lake district with friends from Sweden, we booked 2 rooms at the Highfield based on other excellent Trip Advisor reviews. Looking out of our upper floor bedroom window (room 7) we had a lovely view across the municipal golf course to the lake (Derwent Water) and mountains in the distance - stunning! Stayed 2 nights - used the...

I've just spent 3 nights in the hotel but feel as if I've been away for a week. I met friends here; we were a party of 8 in 5 rooms, but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My room, number 4, had stunning views, (with a small balcony), large super king bed and shower ensuite. Bed linen...

Great location near the lake and theatre but handy also for all the town centre shops, pubs etc. Good variety of rooms all well equiped and the rest of the hotel relaxed and full of character. The food is excellent served in a lovely dining room. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will stay here again next time I'm in...

This hotel is just about perfect. The room had just stunning views down Derwebt Water and this has to be chief reason for staying here, but all aspects of the hotel were really good. A large firm bed; big fluffy towels; high pressure shower. The breakfasts were more than we could manage. We also ate in the hotel. These meals...

We were nearing the end of a tour of Scotland and the North of England and arrived in Keswick and found the Highfield. we were greeted superbly and guided to the car park. The Hotel has so much character. It is clearly an old property but maintanied to such a high standard and clean. We were in the East Turret...

Excellent, We had three rooms, a stunning double and two singles, albeit a little small still very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The views are stunning from all the three rooms. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was also excellent..

We just walked in and were lucky there was a room available. The hotel is really well kept with extremely helpful, polite and efficient staff and there is an abundance of off street parking behind. The room had a king size bed and was large, clean and had a really quaint little annex with two chairs in it at the...

we stayed here for one night. O n arrival we had problems finding the car park as it was around the back, accessible by a limited access road. We parked out of the front and at the reception we were guided to the car park. We were early for check in, but the guy on reception (not sure if he...
