A lovely warm welcome from the proprietor. A very clean and comfortable room and a real hearty breakfast, just right for a day on the fells. We stayed for two nights and were very well looked after. The location is ideal, just round the corner from the high street and we enjoyed some food and beer in the Wainwright Inn...

Just returned from a long weekend at this lovely guest house. Hosts Margaret and Steve very welcoming. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of town. Lovely room at the back of the property ensured we had a great nights sleep in the huge bed which was very comfortable. Decor of rooms modern, with quality furnishings - Dressing gowns,...

Lovely filling breakfasts as always and high standards throughout. Definitely the place to stay if in the area. So many things to do in and around the area, I never...

Beautifully decorated, lovely hosts, award winning breakfast. There was so much choice. The scrambled egg was so tasty and the chef told me the secret ingredient...my lips are sealed! Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here the night before we climbed Scafell, the gentleman running the B&B was so lovely and helpful, we had to leave before breakfast so he made us breakfast to go (it was delicious too). The room was lovely, clean and lots of amenities. The only thing i'd be wary of is that the parking around the B&B is sparse...

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely B&B we found on booking.com. The reception was very warm, we fell right at home. The room was nicely decorated with a great bed. It was a bit on the firm side. The bathroom was small but functional, with very big, soft, luxury towels. The walls are a bit thin, so if...

Sandon Guest House totally meets my expectation. I am particularly impressed by its delicious breakfast. Apart from self-service continental breakfast, hot one with various choices is also available. On both days of my stay, I ordered mushroom on toast with tomatoes. It is very tasty and beautifully presented. Travellers who attach importance to a good breakfast for the start of...
