Me and my partner stayed here one night on a trip to the lake district. The staff kindly stayed open so that we could arrive late as we had got stuck on the M1, they could not have been friendlier! The room was lovely, with a comfy bed and very clean and tidy for a building of this age. The...

The en-suite was very small. It appeared to have been added to an already small room. The toilet was very close to the wall and vey very close to the wash basin making it virtually impossible to sit down and use. There was no hot water in the morning. The room itself was very small and impossible to open the...

Hello nomad488, I'm very sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay at our Inn as much as we would like you to. I appreciate some of our rooms are a little on a small side, it is something we reflect in the price, but equally, we have a refurbishment plan scheduled which will ensure all the bedrooms are brought...

Myself and my family travelled to the Lake District from London for a short Easter break. After a long day of travelling and sight seeing we then arrived at The Kings Head Inn. It is situated in a very nice picturesque location with walking trails up the mountain just seconds away from this place. But then hell broke loose.. At...

My party of 5 booked 3 rooms for the night of 1st Apri at the Kings Head, whilst en route from the South of England to Inverness. Located in a beautiful setting next to Thurlmere lake, this hotel is popular with keen walkers dropping in for refreshments, and has a pleasant atmosphere within. Friendly and helpful staff, and a Manager...

Visited the Kings Head as a family in April. I'd taken the trouble of booking as it was holiday season but when we arrived the place was pretty empty and I when I said I'd reserved a table the gentleman behind the bar shrugged and said 'sit where you like you can see it's not busy'. We then ordered Sunday...

My wife and I have stayed here three times now and have never been disappointed. The rooms are small but cosy and in total keeping with the history of the building. The staff are very welcoming and always have a smile and genuine friendly conversation. We did not have dinner this time here but the breakfast was very varied in...

Stayed here for two nights during Feb half-term. Room a little on the small side but very comfortable, with a fantastic shower which was much appreciated after a day's walking. Neighbouring room needs its door oiling - very noisy as the occupants returned late at night....and went out again.....and returned again.....and went out again....over & over again!! WD40 should do...
