We discovered Oakthwaite last summer and didn't hesitate to go back this year... and David instantly recognised us! As a host he couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, offering all there is to know about the town and area. We took one of the smaller rooms last year but chose to pay a bit more for a bigger room this...

Oakthwaite never disappoints. David and Karen are the most welcoming couple and excellent hosts. We have stayed here twice now and recommend it to everyone we know (so quite a number of our friends and family have stayed here also and have loved Oakthwaite just as much as we do). The decoration is simple yet stylish and immaculately clean. The...

Spent hours researching B&Bs in Keswick and chose Oakthwaite House based on the tripadvisor reviews. I phoned to confirm the expected time of arrival on the day only to be told the room was not available due to a double booking - "very sorry - we have booked you in at Easedale House - you should have left a mobile...

We were delighted and relieved that these guests enjoyed both their stay in Keswick and the alternative accommodation that we had organised for them. We realised we had made this error, our first in the 5 years we’re been running a B&B, two days before these guests were due to stay. Immediately we made every attempt to contact these guests...

but it certainly won't be our last. We have visited Keswick many times over the past twenty years, staying in hotels, apartments and B & B accommodation. We came across Oakthwaite on Tripadvisor and liked what we read. We were not disappointed. The super kingsize room was stunning; beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, with a fantastically comfortable bed and en-suite as...

This is the third time we have stayed at Oakthwaite and we will be visiting again in the future. On this occasion as on previous times there was nothing that disappointed us. We stayed in Room 5 again which is on the top floor, the room is very spacious with excellent en-suite faclities. The premises are spotlessly clean and you...

This B&B was spotless, the hosts very friendly and helpful, location was great, room comfortable - just as all the very positive reviews say. However if you like to enjoy a peaceful breakfast with just your travelling companion(s)this might not be the place for you! David is so keen to help out with your plans for the day (and his...

We stayed 3 nights on our recent trip to Keswick and were impressed with the beautiful, comfortable room and the friendliness and helpfulness of David and Karen. The quality and variety of the breakfasts were exceptional; we particularly loved the crepes and the porridge with whiskey. The location was quiet with easy walking access to the heart of the town....

Completed enjoyed our stay at Oakthwaite House. The accommodation was styled really nicely, and our room (no.4) suited us perfectly. Compact, yet bright and clean with lots of attention to detail. I loved the complimentary chocolate box and the way that the toiletries were presented in a pretty gift bag. The area was quiet even though it's close to the...

My wife and I spent two nights at Oakthwaite House in May 2011. David and Karen run a first-class operation. Our room (Room 2) was attractive and comfortable; breakfast featured not only a wide selection of top-quality food but also a style of service that enhanced the experience. When our clothes were soaked from a torrential downpour, David dried them...
