Stairs are steep to the upper rooms, not a criticism but i'm they would ask before they book you into one of those. The local Weatherspoons is a short walk away for evening meal. Sue and...

After a very warm and enthusiastic welcome we were shown to a very comfortable and cosy looking room. The room was very clean and well equipped, with usual water, biscuits, coffee etc. Breakfast was superb and I would not hesitate in re-booking when we are next in the area.

We stayed for two nights during our Fatbob group motorcycle tour of the Lake District. Ian and Sue were friendly, the room very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect. We stayed in room 6, which overlooks the gated yard at the rear, where I parked my bike. Knowing it was locked away in the yard gave me peace...

This guest house is easy to find on the main road into Penrith. They have limited parking at the rear of the guest house which was very convenient for us. We enjoyed our stay in a very comfortable, well appointed room. Breakfast was terrific.

We travelled to Penrith to receive a prize in the Dalemain marmalade championships. We stayed in the Caledonian Guest house, lovely clean, well appointed rooms and an excellent breakfast and a friendly welcome from the proprietors. Reasonably priced, good location. A good place to stay.

The important aspect of staying in Caledonia house is that they have a unique accommodation which they are very proud of, it is a grade two listed building in the grounds of Greystoke castle. They have restored with love and care using traditional furnishings with lots of character. The large top floor room was very clean and lots of lovely...

A wonderful, welcoming place to stay run by very friendly people. The accommodation is superb, beautifully decorated and well looked after. The whole place is immaculate. Have stayed in a couple of different rooms and both were beautiful. Each room has everything you need to ensure you have a comfortable stay but if it isn't, Ian and Sue will gladly...

The welcome from our hosts was warm and helpful, plus the cycle storage easy and safe. The bed was perfect, shower fab and the room ideal for our needs. The breakfast was top class (freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade granola and local produce available - make sure you ask the night before if you want the asterisked options). We would...
