My wife and I have just returned from a lovely stay at the Briardene Guest House over the Bank holiday weekend and I would like to thank Sam and David for their excellent hospitality and for making my wife's 40th birthday such a special occasion, the attic room was spotlessly clean and so peaceful, the furnishings added a touch of...

My wife Teresa and I have just returned from 5 nights stay with David Sam and little Elizabeth. Briardene is in the perfect location for spending time in the Lake District. Five minutes walk to the local Windermere shops and restaurants for many a choice of evening meals. As usual we checked the reports with Tripadvisor and we yet again...

We have just returned from a wonderful break at The Briardene and are planning our next trip already. The whole experience has been wonderful; Contact was easy, and all queries were answered quickly and helpfully prior to our stay, and we were even given a free upgrade to the lovely four poster room which was a lovely touch. Our initial...

We have just come back from a lovely relaxing stay at the Lakes and what made the weekend was the Briardene. We stayed in the attic room and the bed alone deserves the whole 5 stars itself for being the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! Amazing. David and Sam were perfect hosts, friendly, helpful, welcoming and full of...

Stayed here for 3 nights and was very comfortable. Great location with that homely feel. It was good to see a small fridge in the room which enabled me to have fresh milk for my tea. Most enjoyable breakfast with a good selection. Many thanks for a relaxing stay.

We were fortunate to stay here 2 nights in July - Very accommodating hosts, nothing was too much trouble, Sam and David were both very welcoming. The attic room was suberb, very comfortable bed, refreshments provided, fridge and TV with an excellent choice of breakfast, We only wish we had a longer stay. Julie and John.

We have just left the Briardene after a lovely relaxing weekend away for our silver wedding anniversary. Sam and David are very welcoming into what is essentially their home. The beds are great, showers powerful with plenty of fluffy towels and the breakfasts to die for. If you get the chance to go away, look this wonderful place up as...

We stayed at Briardene for three nights in January as it was my 40th birthday. Sam and David are excellent hosts and have paid great attention to detail in the furnishing of their home. We had booked the Victorian room, but the four-poster room was empty so we were given a free upgrade on arrival. The room was very spacious,...

“We stayed in room 3 the Victorian room which was great for the two of us with a window to the side of the property overlooking the car guest house car park and a very large En Suit. Although we did not see it the Four Poster Bedroom is at the front of the property and looks larger and overlooks the park which would be our preference the next time we visit.”
