We were 2 cyclists in the Lake District doing The Fred Whitton Challenge, and couldn't have chanced on a better B&B. Hospitality was first class, as were the rooms. On the day of our event, we had a very early start (we left at 5.30am), but Cathy and Tim made us the best marmalade sandwiches for breakfast. Nothing was too...

Considering this is a guest house, I still have to give it five stars since the rooms, food and hospitality of Cathy and Tim are excellent. They have only been in occupation since last summer and are currently hard at work in putting their own stamp on the property. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. On arrival, we were...

We walked our way from the train station to this place. It was a bit far, however It's a good place to stay. The room we got was nicely decorated to give us a homely feeling. The area was clean and tidy. The hosts were very welcoming and guided us what else we could do with our free time in...

Visited this week as I had a foreign friend over exploring the Lake District. What a lovely place! Clean, friendly, and with a super breakfast. Great, quiet spot with an easy 5-minute walk into the town. Heartily recommended.

We're a family of four and it wasn't easy to find a B&B that would accommodate us all in one room. It turns out Haisthorpe House has a beautiful top floor room for families. We booked a three-night stay and almost immediately I received a note from Cathy welcoming us. Cathy and Tim gave us several wonderful ideas for hiking...

We stayed in Haisthorpe House over the New Year on a room only basis, and it was a nice, quiet, clean and enjoyable place to spend a few nights. Handy for both Windermere and Bowness, I would have no hesitation in recommending this as a perfect place to stay in the heart of the Lake District
