I was on a day trip to Windermere. Was looking for a place to eat but this place had no food on. To be fair they said they were refurbishing the kitchens and it was well out of season. After eating somewhere else I went back in for drink. A few good real ales on but only had time to...

A quiet hotel just off the main street. Went in just for a drink and we were greeted by a very friendly bar lady. The food on offer at lunchtime was all at £5 and it looked good with ample portions. The hotel is a tad dated but quaint. Will go there for a meal the next time we are...

Arrived as a family of 3 for a nights stay to be greeted by a rude man who showed us to our room. The room was ok but had a very unpleasant strong smell throughout duration of stay. There was no hot water at all throughout our entire stay but the worst was still to come. Upon awakening for breakfast...

It was average for a hotel, there were good and bad points to the stay. The good: -was in a good location as central to Windermere and close walk to Bowness on Windermere, close to the station, with access to buses and trains to other places. -the rooms were small but cosy so perfect after a long day walking. -the...

Didnt stay or eat here as we were staying in a cottage around the corner but it did become my local for our two weeks holiday. Whilst we didnt eat, the food I did see coming out looked lovely. Good selection of beer and friendly staff. We had live music one night which was great. With much variety in Windermere...

4 of us went, 2 had an ok meal but the other 2 were very disappointing. They came out of the kitchen looking to give a chicken curry and a chilly cheese burger to customers and after them circling the restaurant twice we realised that could have been our curry - but we didnt order a chilli cheese burger. We...

Having had a long drive with a hungry slightly cranky 4 year old grand daughter and a older dog in tow we accidentally found the elleray. A little hidden gem. All the lunch food was home made at £5 a pop, and large helpings. Children got a meal and desert. When we walked in after first asking if it was...

We were spending the weekend around Windemere and wanted somewhere nice for a pub lunch. We researched pubs in the area and this came out fairly top. When we arrived the overall perception of the place didn't wow us but the food was outstanding and great value. It was £5 per person for food, the portions were large, the food...
