Fantastic setting on lake Windermere with lovely grounds. I had a room on the second floor with spectacular views. Staff were very helpful and friendly but this was an "old fashioned" hotel which also meant not a very good shower amd average food and wine. It had just been taken over by new management who were obviously trying to make...

My wife and I met a couple of friends at Langdale Chase for lunch. We had the fish and chips an the plougmans platter. The meals were very good and filling. After lunch we walked around the gardens and had a game of croquet on the lawn. After an exhausting sit down in the deck chairs we returned to the...

This hotel has been awarded, quite rightly, best view in England, the location and hotel itself have stunning views, The gardens are wonderful, but unfortunately it virtually ends there, it is a bit tired and in need of a refurbishment, which I am advised by the new owners is going to be undertaken, but at present you have to put...

Would give 11 out of 5 if possible. Spent a night at Langdale Chase on our way from London to Scotland. Our time here was a fantastic, amazing experience, and despite all the photos and video I took, and stories I have told to relatives, I don't think anything will ever come close to spending a night here yourself. Yes,...

Firstly the positives.... Fantastic location, the views from our room were simply breathtaking. Now the other stuff! The bed was the softest, most uncomfortable 'thing' we have slept in for years. Made up of two beds pushed together, but they are slightly different heights and one side slightly firmer than the other ( slightly, but still feels very well worn...

Stayed here for four nights in late April. Imposing late 19th century mansion in beautiful, extensive grounds on the lake shore with superb views from the public rooms and the exterior terraces. Probably the best hotel location on the lake. There are two annexes within the grounds, two or three minutes walk from the main building. One of these is...

On arrival we checked in and were surprised to find we had been offered an upgrade for free. Our room was in the Lake House. The views from the room and the balcony were stunning. The room was spacious and comfortable. We stayed for dinner on both evenings of our stay and enjoyed our food. The staff were friendly and...

Stay here for Easter weekend. Somewhat over priced for 3 star. However on arrival the room was very spacious and well decorated. The stone balcony overlooked the lake and it was lovely and quiet. Decent sized bathroom with large free standing antique styled bath. Sound proofing was good as we couldn't here the adjacent rooms. About 30mins walk from the...

Had a lovely meal here on 11th April, Fish & Chips were delicious, worth the wait! perfect views of the lake and beyond. Enjoyed looking round the hotel, full of character, nice to come back after nearly forty years, it has hardly changed (apart from the staff!) made my day seeing it again!!
