This B&B is ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness with only a few minutes walk away from both. It has free parking on the road outside, is clean and comfortable place to stay and a great breakfast as well. The hosts Paul and Sue are very welcoming and I would thoroughly recommend Montfort Cottage.

Well what can I say. Stayed here bank holiday weekend as a surprise visit for my girlfriend to Windermere. Montfort Cottage was the idyllic base to feed our adventures and rest our weary heads. Firstly I need to tell you that Sue and Paul (the owners) are truly first rate, friendly, warm and very happy to go that extra yard....

We came for a four day break in the Lakes, and after discovering the Montfort and reading the reviews, booked the Grasmere room in advance. We were greeted by Sue, a lovely lady, with a very warm welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean, a nice touch was a portion of Kendal Mint Cake for that lovely Lake District welcome. The...

Stayed for two nights on a weekend away, perfect find! Sue and Paul were lovely and very friendly. The room (Windermere) was beautifully presented with a super size king bed which was very comfortable. Although the room overlooked the primary school opposite there were still views of the hills and countryside. Breakfast in the mornings was simple to arrange and...

This b n b is in a good location between the upper and lower parts of town. Easy to park outside. Rooms and bathroom are a little small. Poky rather than bijou. Furnishings are comfy though. Breakfast was very good with a choice of tasty well cooked mains. More fruit would be welcome. The overall experience is better value for...

Lovely b&b Sue and Paul very good owners. Rooms clean, bathrooms small but very clean. Good location and very quiet . Sue and Paul were very helpful with places to visit and places to eat. Bathrooms quite old fashioned but we're very clean and adequate. Would stay there again if we went back to the Lake District.

My room faces the primary school, so the view is not too great, depending on what you hope to see. However, the room is clean and tastefully decorated. The amenities provided is of high quality and leaves a good impression. It is located between Bowness and Windermere, hence it's just a 10 mins walk to either town. I carried a...

We loved it all. Perfect location between to 2 close towns, quiet neighborhood, cozy rooms, all the extras you might need. The hosts, Paul and Sue, are wonderful and organized. The full English Breakfast they whip up every day was amazing and kept us from needing lunch until 2 or 3 pm. They are super helpful in directions and ideas....
