We have just spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. The location is excellent just a couple of minutes walk to the varied shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Plenty of car parking too which is a bonus. We stayed in room 5 on the ground floor which is at the side rear of the building so no view, it was small but...

We stayed with friends recently, lovely hallway and good sized rooms for the most part. My single friend stayed in the only single room available ,(room 3), which she was unhappy with as it just about fit a single bed and small wardrobe. It was claustrophobic and the bedroom window wouldn't open, only a high window in the bathroom opened....

Booked 3 rooms for a family celebration (parents 50th wedding anniversary) 9 months in advance. Unfortunately father then became unwell and hospitalised - realising he was going to be too unwell to make trip, made decision to cancel the reservation. Had booked via booking.com so had to go via their website to cancel - they said Ellerthwaite Lodge were not...

My husband and I have just spent two nights here to celebrate my birthday, we asked for a room that had a walk in shower and that is what we got, the room was of a decent size and had a sliding door from the bedroom into the bathroom. We had freebies such as shower gel, shampoo etc so if...

We only stayed overnight. We're given a warm welcome. The room was very nice and clean and modern. The breakfast waS brilliant. Everythi g was hot on the plate. Would definitely go again. Pity it didn't do evening meals really.

Thank you for your kind works and we are very happy you enjoyed breakfast. We source all our breakfast product locally and cook everything to order fresh in the morning. We still believe that table service is much nicer than buffet, it might take a little longer but we hope that it provides a relaxing start to the morning.

I stayed in a twin with a friend at the end of January. We received a warm welcome from Helen and were checked in quickly. The room we has was large, very light and nice high ceiling's. Shower was great, bathroom nice and we had a desk and wardrobe for clothes. Breakfast was amazing, toast, yohgurt, fruit and a full...

Our party could not make it to this hotel because our daughter went into labour early with a very complicated birth that day , we contacted the hotel receptionist the next day to explain these circumstances asking if we could change the date , they said that they would call me back later that day. We fully understood we would...

Thank you for taking the time to review us. You have used my name even though I have never spoken to or communicated with you. Yes you did book a room through an online travel booking site, yes you did not show up and yes you did contact our staff. It was explained that you would be charged for the...

Great location , off street parking and fantastic clean room. Morning breakfast lots of choice and all served and no quibbles about extra items if asked. Hotel is a large property with plenty of space and we had the very top room 16 which had a comfy bed and god on suite facilities. Will look forward to stay again.

This was our second visit to this B & B and it was just as welcoming and friendly as the first time. Rooms are basic but the room we stayed in had a mattress to die we slept like logs. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast was lovely. Poached eggs were perfect. Would recommend this B & B to anyone looking for...

The location is good. The suite was nice but not amazing for the price. It was clean but there was some small imperfections like a cracked tile in the bathroom and some cracks in the ceiling. The staff were friendly. However, we were really disappointed when we had notified them prior to travelling and again upon arrival, that one of...
