Best part of the hotel was the Reception staff (Jana, Niko) who were helpful throughout and couldn’t do enough, particularly regarding the unfortunate incident on the second night. More of which later. The hotel itself is ok. We had a suite on the second floor (50+ stairs and no lift - be warned). Lots of space in the rooms but use of which not especially well thought out. For example the bathroom had enough space to accommodate a small swimming pool yet the bath was in the bedroom. And for an unfathomable reason the coat hooks in the bedroom were without exaggeration located 8 feet off the floor. Quality of furnishings not especially high - looked ok but cheap construction. Overall trying a tad too hard to be better than it actually was. That said, bed was comfy and as mentioned the staff were great. The unfortunate incident was that our car was broken into on the second night whilst parked in the hotel car park. The car alarm, which guests had complained about as it repeatedly sounded, was ignored by the alleged overnight hotel security, nor was there CCTV coverage. Hotel management could really do with addressing both of these deficiencies. Rather took the shine off the stay, messed up our onward journey, and doesn’t encourage us to stay again.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Regarding the room that you stayed in, this was a complimentary upgrade to our bridal suite. The features in this room are designed with brides in mind. The coat hooks at the high level are in fact hooks for wedding dresses. These are placed higher to accommodate long trains on the dresses. The gold bathtub in the bedroom is a contemporary feature that is quite a show stopper, making this the most desired room in the hotel. Our high quality modern fixtures and fittings appear not to be to your tastes, but are carefully sourced at great expense to provide award winning luxurious bedrooms. We are so sorry that your car was broken into, what is an isolated incident. This is not something that we are used to at Winstanley house and are sorry it blighted your stay.

We had our wedding and reception at Winstanley and had this booked prior to covid. Winstanley were more than accommodating when it came to rearranging our date due to lockdowns and made the process from start to finish so easy. Our wedding coordinator was Isobel Yates who was by far the most welcoming, calm and encouraging I have met in the wedding industry! She not only helped our day come to life but in the lead up she called to double-check small details, to check we were okay and even on the day she helped ensure everything was running smoothly and did the smallest of things such as coming to check on me the morning of and reassured me the venue was looking perfect. All of the rooms were clean, warm and presented well! the Bridal suite was even more amazing than I thought and the beds were beyond comfortable! The food was also exceptional and we had many guests ask about the catering from Sanjay Foods - Rishi did an outstanding job! The banqueting staff also were wonderful throughout the reception and ensured food was served, cleared and waiters were available throughout the evening in a timely manner. We could not have asked or expected more from them! if they have your date available, I would highly recommend Winstanley as a place to get married or to even get a nice dinner. the staff are always so friendly and understanding! Thank you again to the amazing staff! :)

Honestly, I could not say enough positive comments about this incredible hotel. 10/10 for EVERYTHING!!! The room was huge, comfortable, luxurious & spotlessly clean. The guy on reception was a delight (I wish I got his name). The grounds are beautiful & Braunstone park is a fabulous place for an after breakfast walk. Talking of breakfast, just look at the photos! So tasty & huge! And a lovely selection of pastries & cereal too. The grounds at the back are stunning with a beautiful old tree & swing. It cost less than £10 for an Uber into town too. Thankyou & see you very soon

Absolutely breathtaking bridal suite, downside was because we didn't marry there , I had to take my dress off before our arrival which was a shame. Only persons who marry on site/ or have a wedding reception are allowed to use the grounds, and wear wedding dresses etc. I wouldn't of known any of this if I hadn't of rang to check something ( although they said it was in the small print) let me honest who reads that) and I wouldn't of said if was very clear even when I did. Other concerning thing was when I rang they said I hadn't got the Bridal suite booked as it was already booked out. I had book the room about 10 weeks in advance and I had a reservation confirming exactly what I had booked. So I had to prove all of that and wait for a call back. In the meantime I was stressing whilst waiting for that call. Anyway call arrived and they apologised, also confirmed it was the bridal suite ( which I know because they only have 1 room at the price). We had dinner in the black iron restaurant which was lovely, nice and hot, tasty and reasonable. Infact the steak was better then one we had in Gordon Ramseys restaurant. Overall despite the upset over the dress and booking I would still rate a high 4, its just a shame they didn't consider how much distress it caused re the booking and the dress.
