100% above and beyond expectations. Although hotel is old but the warm welcome a guest should receive, I don’t think so any newly open hotel can match. I truly don’t have words to express my gratitude. Assistant Front of House manager welcomed us, Check in was smooth with all necessary information. She is a true credit to the team Leicster. I cannot be thankful enough for making my day..

Hotel's Favourite
Pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness inside after walking through the automatic doors into the foyer seeing the cracked floor tiles and debris and looking generally grubby. The room was fine, carpet was clean and the room spotless - well done to the hardworking housekeeping team! Breakfast was very nice - a special mention to our lovely, friendly breakfast server, who incidentally cooked my perfect fried eggs on request (and I'm so sorry I never asked/got his name - what a great team member!) I went over to reception midway through breakfast (approx 09 15 - Sunday 20th) to ask for change of a £10 note, so I could reward said breakfast server, but I found the chap in a suit behind the desk very, very unhelpful, first saying he had no £5 notes, so then I asked for £2 or £1 coins, and without looking in the till he said he didn't have any either, I looked at him in disbelief and then he finally opened the till and said he only has 20p and 5p pieces! Sadly and with regret, it is for this reason only that I give 1 star for service!

The Hilton in Leicester is situated a few miles south west of the city centre. I took a taxi from Leicester station which cost around £12 without tip. Buses 50 and X84 can take you from the city centre to the nearby Sainsbury’s at Fosse Park which is a short walk to the hotel. I was fortunate to be given an upgrade for my one night stay. My room was very good including bathroom with shower and tub, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. I was also supplied with jelly beans, small bottles of red & white wine and nuts. I dined in the bar as the main restaurant was closed. I had Korean belly pork in a spicy sauce to start, chicken tikka masala for main and mango knickerbocker glory for dessert. All were decent and the dessert was provided free of charge as it took a while to materialise. I also had a large gin & tonic. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. It was good to see poached eggs on offer which is a rarity at hotels these days. Cost including dinner was around £150 for one night.

A huge thanks to James (front manager), for his handling of an issue I experienced prior to check in. The receptionist Sarah, was also extremely helpful and ensured a pleasant customer experience! I hope to stay here again soon! A beautiful hotel to stay with family.
