Have stayed here before. Good value hotel, friendly staff, plenty of free parking & wifi, excellent breakfast. Like the name suggests, a bit past it's glory, but comfortable and clean. Could do with a bit of an upgrade as no bathroom fan or shelf and no welcome instructions or telephone in room. Decor, hmmmmm. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff were friendly and they have a large car park but..... I used to stay here 20/25 years ago and remember as being a pretty decent local hotel with a reasonable restaurant. Sadly not any more. The hotel is run down and dilapidated (both the public areas and the rooms) and frankly needs a fortune spending on it to...

I last stayed at the Regency hotel just over 30 years when I actually lived there for 3 months as my house purchase went through . It was a privately run hotel with young staff and I had fond memories of the place . We stayed here recently for 3 nights as we had to be in the vicinity ....

Nice old Victorian building. Unfortunately, it is in serious need of refurbishing. The staff is nice, the bed was comfortable (although the bed was really for one person - really small for 2). No elevator but we got helped with our suitcase. The carpet is old and dingy, the bathroom was clean but old, etc. Bed lampshades fixed with scotch...

We stayed over Christmas 24-27th Dec, only chose this hotel due to being five min walk away from family house who was hosting Christmas (so we could roll back after the festivities!). Ok so il start with check in- was quick. Staff kind of welcoming, didn't tell us any information we had to ask what time is breakfast/checkout etc so...

After reading some poor reviews we approached the Regency with some trepidation, we needn't have worried, OK, it's a little faded but that lends itself to the Victorian charm. The location was good, a short bus ride to the City Centre, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the TV wasn't working but was quickly fixed. The room was warm, comfortable...

The Regency is a nice 25 min walk from the city centre. You get what you pay for- remember to ask if breakfast is included. Our was not. The breakfast although was nice and prepared freshly on order. I would propably return if I was to stay in Leicester again. It's not a bad hotel, it just have low standards.

This hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed in! First impressions were not good and after being asked to pay full payment for the room before even seeing the room things began to get worse. On seeing the room, we found it to be dirty, stained carpet and settee, cracked and stained bath, dirty towels, complete with poo!...

Checked in ok - the chap on reception was 'training' a new employee who was very nice and offered to show me to my room and carry some of my luggage. My room was like a tarts boudoir! Pink and black flocked paper and very badly fitted pink and black curtains - I had a lovely brown stain on the...
