I booked to stay a night at this hotel, but after checking in and seeing the state of my room (the bin in the room was full of beer cans and the sheets were stained and had hairs on them), decided to arrange different accommidation. As this was very short notice, it took me about an hour. I left the keys at reception and left. The hotel refused to offer any refund, and a week later, I was issued with a £100 fine for the illegal use of their car park. When I sent evidence that for the one hour I was "legally" on their premises, the hotel still refused to drop the charges. I can honestly say it was the worst hotel I have ever visited. It is in a very run down state with broken furniture, chipped and dirty paintwork and threadbare carpets. The management insisted it was being renovated, but complaints about the same issued I raised were made 3 years ago

Room Tip: Despite offering cheap rooms, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, despite their budget.

Hotel was a sham - sad to say. Advertised information turned out to be something completely opposite to what was imagined! The building is under construction/renovation with scaffolding -fixtures to the hotel/evidently at the front not at all welcoming, not mentioned until booking was secure and Non refundable!. Feel cheated:( … Room was said to be the biggest/ suggested ensuite but not short of standard. Room was cold, radiator, tv not working, no telephone or bedside lamp. Fixtures broken and non fully functioning- not enough switch sockets to charge phones(two main sockets were occupied by plug-in electronic heaters which the night shift worker kindly assisted (but he new to the job so only knew so much). The bedside drawer covered in dust. There was not enough space inside room and small bathroom no place to hang/place clothing(no pegs/shelving). No wash toiletries and No bath Mat! (Health and safety problem) bathroom sign stated it did but if didn’t & but when enquiring about it, the worker had no clue. The list is endless, dim bathroom light inside main room and poor quality lighting In bathroom, no standing/wall mirror, dirty rug on the floor. No lift/wheel chair ramp/access in operation so bringing up luggage cases on the second floor was frustrating although manager offered to take them up - some consolation. This would pose a problem for wheel chair users/ no ramp access. The reception calling card stated complementary breakfast but when enquired it wasn’t an option due to covid?? I’m rarely post, negative reviews but I wouldn’t want any one to go and feel so very very let down! I thank goodness I was only staying there the night. *Therefore, I won’t be able to recommend this hotel(The Croft hotel, Leicester, 3 Stanly road- LE2 1RF) If anything think it should be shut down until further notice/ improvements(renovation is completed!)

This hotel is one of the filthiest disgusting smelliest grottiest unkempt hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel is undergoing what looks like a huge refurbishment but there is absolutely no excuse for the filth and the dirt inside the rooms & corridors. The reception is most un welcoming and run down. There is a strong smell of damp. The carpets are so worn & filthy you need to wipe your feet on your exit not your arrival. There are also Mushrooms growing along the hallway floor. The room we were given was very dusty, smelly, had dirty bedding , extremely basic and VERY dated with minimal furniture. It had not been cleaned prior. The photos on the website are nothing like the hotel. This hotel/hostel it is not worth the £55-£60 a night. You’d be better off camping in Victoria Park across the Road. As a single woman travelling with my daughter I didn’t feel safe at this hotel & I wouldn’t recommend it. We did not stay at the hotel due to the appalling condition of the room and was given a refund. Not a hotel but a homeless hostel AVOID

Rooms are disgusting. Stopped as working as key worker in area. Room was horrible but only needed a couple of nights so sucked it up. Now covered in bite marks from bed bugs. Caused me time off work due to nature of my job. Avoid at all costs. Room suppose be covid cleaned yet not even regularly clean. Reported to local health authority and will seek legal action. Hotel suppose have a duty of care to customers
