Booked as we were attended a concert at the M&S arena so decided to make a night of it
We booked the fall into autumn dinner bed and breakfast offer.

Although we booked a luxury double we were given a huge room with 3 king size beds which was very clean. huge spa bath, tea coffee and lovely fluffy Towels hair dryer ironing board and huge tv with very comfy beds.

Dinner was served over the road at the shankly 2 courses included in the price a DJ was playing when we arrived in the restaurant it was a great atmosphere staff great very attentive
My husband said his calamari was the best he’s ever tasted , all the food was extremely tasty and cooked well.

Both hotels have a very friendly vibe great decor great location and we definitely had value for money highly recommended 👍

I visited the Dixie Dean hotel on Friday with my husband and my sister and brother-in-law. Both our rooms were amazing, they had two large double beds and two sofas in each (which I assume come out into sofa beds). Both rooms were decorated so amazingly we were blown away when we walked in. Each had a jacuzzi bath which was so lovely to relax in before a night out.
On check-in, the staff were welcoming and so helpful, they gave us all the details we needed and even came up to the rooms to help when we had problems with our keys (our faults, we were putting them in the wrong way).

The rooms had everything we needed, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, TV with google play to download any tv apps we wanted to use and tea and coffee making facilities. There were two dressing tables with mirrors and decent lights above them, which makes all the difference when getting ready, and plugs were right next to them for doing your hair etc.

Breakfast was across the road in the Shankly hotel, again, absolutely gorgeous. It was a self service breakfast with all your usual cooked breakfast items, a selection of pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt, and juices with hot drinks brought to your table. This hotel is equally as amazing in how it looked, and the staff there were just as lovely and helpful.

We're already planning on taking the kids back for a weekend in Liverpool, and a girls weekend later this year.

Thank you to all the staff and also to Michelle who is fantastic and helped us with all our questions about a possible wedding to be held there even though I'm sure she was in a rush to get to the football match, and to Faye for all of her help leading up to the stay. We can't wait to return.

By far the best hotel stay I've had in years.

Hello Aimee Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a great 5 star review for us here at The Dixie Dean Hotel. I will pass on your kind comments to our whole staff team, they love to hear feedback from our guests. I'm so pleased that you all loved your rooms, they really do have the wow factor. Room 108 also has the original safe in which we have incorporated into the room, it's one of my personal favourites. Our rooms are fully equipped with anything you might require for your stay. Our jacuzzi baths are very popular and are a great way to relax. We would love to welcome you all back with the rest of the family, what a great treat that would be. Any further information you require regarding a booking for the girls or help arranging the wedding please contact myself or Faye. Look forward to seeing you all again soon. Kind Regards Melanie Prentice Guest Relations Director The Dixie Dean Hotel

Thankyou for a fabulous stay in this gorgeous hotel. We was welcomed from the minute we arrived, Melanie was lovely. The rooms are gorgeous all different colours for the teams Dixie dean used to play for ours was burgundy for the team sligo, we had a jacuzzi bath and a celing shower which made it for us. The rooms felt brand new thick carpet and so clean , The hallways were all blue for the famous Everton designed by signature living so you can imagine the style and quality.
Feel lucky to have this hotel on our doorstep, with my husband being an Evertonian this just made his 30th birthday for him.
Show this local hotel some support afterlockdown to get it up and running again, you won't be dissapointed, we've already booked again for 4 weeks time for our 1st wedding anniversary.

I dont normally do a trip advisor but this had to be done!
Thanks again to the fabulous team at Dixie Dean xxx

Booked this hotel for my friends 40th birthday, 5 women staying in a 6 person room.
First impressions of the building were impressive, however in the lobby it was large but lit very poorly which made us all have headaches.
We had arrived early for check in and sat in the lobby, was told it would be a 30 min wait, this turned into well over an hour which we didn't complain about as we were early after all.
Was asked by the receptionist to go to the desk as I was the main person on the booking, she then proceeded to ask for my photo ID & I had to pay £200 deposit, which was automatically taken from my account with the condition it would be refunded within 3-15 working days! The deposit cost more than the cost of the one night stay!!
Two drinks later and our room was ready, on the third floor, the room was narrow and long, 2 double beds and two sofas which were made up as two single beds. The bedside table lamp was broken and the shower head over the bath was loose, drawer under the sink was also faulty. The beds were made well, clean and comfy.
We had pre booked our breakfast for the next morning as room service, this was delivered at the time we requested, generous sausage and bacon baps, jugs of apple and orange juice, and a warm container of tea and coffee. Definitely recommend this.
We did inform the lady who brought the breakfast that the shower was only running cold water. She said she would inform the maintenance guy.
30 mins later and conscious that we had to check out at 11, was now 10am, nobody attended to fix our water problem. I rang the hotel on my mobile (no phone in the room) followed the instructions, pressed 2 for Dixie dean & 3 for reception. Lady answered and said I had been put through to reservations, she then reconnected me, or so I thought, I informed the receptionist of the water issue and my room number. Again, was told maintenance would attend. 15 mins later, I received a call back to say there is no problem with the shower, only to correct the receptionist that we were staying in the Dixie dean, not the shankly hotel (partner hotel directly opposite the Dixie dean) she told me I had selected the wrong hotel, again stated I had been reconnected by reservations to the wrong hotel!!!
I then had to go down to reception and informed the receptionist, she was apologetic and offered another room to shower, we declined as we a had already braved cold showers. She then said we could take as long as we required to get ready.
I have since been reimbursed with my £200 deposit, sooner than what I expected.
Not sure I would stay here again, will probably try the shankly hotel for a comparison.

Hello Delyth Thank you for taking the time to write a review we value all feedback. Check in is from 3pm, occasionally rooms are ready earlier or if they are pre requested as early check in. Pre Auths are taken for every booking and are immediately refunded on check out. Depending on your bank this usually shows back in the account between 2-5 working days. Apologies that the issue with your shower was not resolved before check out, but pleased that reception offered you an alternative room to shower. The Shankly is not our partner hotel, we have separated from that group over a year ago. Our phone line is still shared but we expect to be fully separated very shortly. So although this is a nice looking hotel higohly disorganised and upon being in the bedroom for the first 20 minutes. Some of the girls on the Hen do decided to move the beds slightly only to find drug paraphernalia under the beds ... Not just one bed but all of the beds and some old food.

We stayed in one of the rooms that sleeps 8 as they were 17 in our party.
I think it's quite tragic that the hotel knows this is mainly a hen do location and yet there is one bathroom for a room that sleeps 8 and there are two mirrors with extremely poor lighting.

For an ultimate hen party weekend hotel you would think they would have a makeup station next to every bed or at least a separate bathroom .

The first morning the breakfast was the most disorganised miss I've ever seen troops of 20 woman were coming down in half an hour slots to get breakfast and everything had run out and when they promise to refill the trays the next lot of 20 would come down and the first lot of 20 would never get anything . The queues in the morning for breakfast were diabolical and there was no staff anywhere to be seen and there was no bread no butter no bacon no sausages and the egg was completely undercooked so all in all I wish I'd gone to McDonald's and not paid for breakfast at this hotel.

The next morning they did seem to pull themselves towards themselves and make-up much concerted effort to make breakfast better but too little too late which is quite sad.

not of our arrival we will wanted to go down to the bar and have drinks but they were short staffed so the bar was closed which I think is a poor excuse to say the least.

My biggest complaint of this entire experience that I have to say was the fact that they have no parking and all no concessions for the car park nearby. When you're paying thousands of pounds to stay in a room at night you'd think they would be some sort of discount on the car park next door.

Other than that the hotel looks quite lovely the lift takes forever and there is only one I just don't think the whole idea of the hotel being for him and stag parties has been well thought through as they seems to be too little of things needed like lifts mirrors and bathrooms.

Whilst the hotel is beautiful, staff absolutely amazing, polite, friendly and welcoming, breakfast in sister hotel beautiful, our stay was ruined by “the Cave Room” although I completely get the experience they are trying to give it is seriously let down by the lack of a window which makes it extremely claustrophobic! The room is not finished to a good standard, sink tap completely loose, plug on wall hanging off will exposed wires. Air conditioning was on constantly which caused all 4 of us to get sore throats. Bathroom has no air vents, so when someone showers the bathroom and bedroom with condensation, mirrors steam up and don’t clear. Only 1 tiny wardrobe for 4 of us with no hangers. No drawer space at all so we lived out of suitcases for 2 days… not really what we want at our age 50’s. The towels were of excellent quality but only a bath towel each and 1 hand towel between us. The beds were spotless, extremely comfortable and high quality bedding which was so welcomed. The floors were filthy, our feet were literally dirty which is not nice. Tea and coffee facilities were great. Dirty towels left outside our door by cleaner on the floor for a full day. We did ask for a room change as we experienced claustrophobic but they couldn’t assist. The description and photos of the cave need to be put on website so people know what to expect. We spent more to come to this hotel due to wanting to feel it was a treat as we all work hard.

Hello Shaz Thank you for your review, we welcome all feedback. I'm really sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in one of our Cave rooms. By the nature of the name I would have presumed that you would realise that the room does not have windows. Apologies that I was not able to move you to another room as you requested, but as I explained to you we were fully booked. Any problems can easily be rectified if you let our 24 hour reception aware. Air Con can also be altered from our master panel behind reception if guests are too hot or too cold. Extra towels can be provided on request. Our housekeeping team would willingly have refreshed your room and floor if asked. All linen is stripped from rooms that are checking out and placed in linen bags on each floor, these are then removed by check in at 3pm. We hope that you return to visit us, but please specify which room type you require when making you reservation. Kind regards Melanie Prentice Guest Relations Director The Dixie Dean Hotel

We visited The Dixie Dean to celebrate our first valentines together, which is something we had been really looking forward to. On arrival, we were checked in quickly and made our way to our room. However, upon entering, the TV had been left on and we were faced with a strong smell of cigarettes. It was like the previous guests had literally just left the room. As this was a non-smoking hotel and we did not want to lose our deposit, we immediately reported this to reception and they said housekeeping would freshen up our room within the next half hour. We returned to our room and realised we had no toiletries (which we had previously missed) so again reported this as we left to get some food. When we came back to our room it had been freshened and toiletries were put on the side in the bathroom.

The main attraction of the room was the hot tub bath, which was quite large and we were very excited to use it. As we went into the bathroom, we could still smell the smoke so we are assuming it was coming out of the extractor fan and perhaps the previous guests had smoked in the bathroom so it would not be picked up by the smoke detectors. As we got to finally using the bath, we noticed that the bath water was full of bits, such as clumps of hair, fluff, and dirt. This would get worse when the jets were turned on. We decided to leave this until the morning to report. During our first night we also noticed marks on the throw at the end of our bed.

We reported the hot tub issue the next morning and they said maintenance would clean it. Supposedly, it would not have been cleaned if the previous guests did not use it. The staff member we spoke to was a little bit rude when shown the pictures of the items in the bath as she replied ‘I know what they look like’. After a day out, we returned to a ‘fixed’ hot tub and new towels. One of the new towels had a large, brown lipstick stain on it and the bath still had bits of hair and dirt in it. We also spoke to two girls from the basement rooms who said their room smelt of drains, so it was not just us facing issues.

Although we had a lovely time in Liverpool, and the location is great. The hotel itself slightly dampened our spirits, especially as we paid quite a bit of money for it. It was a shame we had to complain three times in less than 24 hours. Personally I would not recommend this hotel.

All photos are from filling the bath and putting jets on without getting in, as we saw bits when we used the hot tub the first time and wanted to make sure it was the bath itself.

Wow!! This hotel!
We originally had booked the flamingo suite in the Shankly hotel but unfortunately this was unavailable on our date due to a unforeseen circumstance with the guests the night before our stay. The hotel couldn’t do enough for us and offered us a Cave suite in the Dixie Dean hotel which was a huge upgrade on the original booked room.

The cave suite was absolutely amazing! Sleeps up to 24 , two jacuzzi baths with Bluetooth set up so you can connect your Spotify playlist to, beautiful mirrors and dressing table units , individual shower cubicles and toilets . Own bar unit to make drinks on, fridge also.
Beds were really comfy and plenty of wardrobe space/tea coffee etc

The room had been decorated and we had cupcakes and Prosecco waiting for us as part of our package.

We had a meal booked in the Bastion restaurant across the road at the Shankly which was lovely. The ONLY down side of the entire trip was the slow service at our evening meal, 2.5 hours to serve 2 courses and the restaurant weren’t aware of our booking on arrival (could have perhaps been down to the sudden change of room)

Breakfast was lovely (again across at the Bastion) plenty of choice of hot and continental.

I must make a special mention to the staff at the Dixie Dean and Mike who sorted out the upgrade for us - we were all were stunned at how lovely the room was but also how you came and checked twice that we were happy and showed us to the room to make sure everything was as we wanted it .

Would DEFINITELY stay again at either the Shankly or Dixie Dean - beautiful hotel and fantastic staff xx

We stayed here as a group of friends for a hen do during July. We had such a good time that I've booked to stay again on Sunday 7th August!

Reception staff were attentive and helpful, they had a room ready for a slightly early check in and looked after our luggage after check out so that we could go for breakfast.

The rooms were immacate, luxury, air-conditioning worked great, bathroom was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable! The housekeeping team here did a great job!

I can't wait for my return in August with 3 friends who haven't been to the Dixie Dean yet, I know they'll enjoy their stay as much as I did!

Thanks again! Ashleigh

We stayed at this lovely hotel which is spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard. Our room was on the first floor very comfy beds, lovely bathroom. I would suggest that a table is required for tea/coffee making facilities and definitely more plug sockets needed in the room.
Breakfast is served at the shankly hotel which is situated directly opposite the Dixie dean, the restaurant manager Jade is a credit to this hotel she honestly can’t do enough for you, she is so hardworking and obliging. The food at the shankly is lovely definitely worth a visit!!!
The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance to Matthews street bars and if your passing the Lisbon on the way it’s a very friendly bar with a drag queen DJ who is very welcoming.
