Went up to London for a going away party. The travel Lodge is two minutes walk from southwark tube station making it an idea location from which to explore the city. The room was warm and clean with an impressive view of the Shard, included was the usual set of complimentary teas and coffees to go with the small kettle....

Stayed here for a night and was not disappointed. We booked 3 rooms and the staff made sure they were together. Hotel was generally well maintained, and all you would expect from a budget hotel chain, but the staff there were exceptional, so very friendly, they made it a pleasure to stay there. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

My wife and I had to travel to London and needed a central London hotel. We booked the hotel and thought for the price, the hotel would do for one night. We will definitely use this hotel again The reception staff were excellent all the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is less than a five minute taxi...

I stayed here last night and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and looked quite nice with a simple layout and a large double bed. However there were a few issues: the toilet seat was loose and needed one of the brackets tightening up; when I had a shower I found the temperature...

We had a family room, spacious enough with a king size bed and 2 extra beds. Very clean, very good breakfast and always friendly, helpful staff. Very close to the subway or POI close enough to go to by foot. I highly recommend this hotel.

Can recommend - clean, good value, near station, food good too, room excellent - only issue free wifi didn't work but staff did try to resolve. Hairdryer apparently available from reception which is only thing I'd put in bathroom/add.

We stayed overnight before a very important hospital appointment the next day, first of all it stated that there was disabled parking, we drove round and round and could find no parking at all so I went into reception to ask and was given a key, the disabled parking was behind a locked gate where obviously all the rubbish was...

We checked in 3 hours early for an extra £10 and on checking out, our bags were kept in a secure room for free. The hotel is in a great location, close to the tube station. We had a large room with a view of the Shard. The train line ran close to the hotel, but we weren't disturbed by...

We have stayed here a few times as a family. It is 1 minute walk away from the tube station. The family rooms are spacious enough for 4. The rooms are very clean. Breakfast is a little chaotic but again good value so we don't mind the wait for tables, food filling back up and crockery to be available. There...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
