The hostel is great. It's easy to get to. The staff are friendly. check is quick. It's really quite unlike some hostels I've stayed in. The rooms aren't massive and due to the age of the building there aren't many power points in the rooms. The breakfast was good value as well.

If you don't expect too much, you will not be disappointed. The international and multilingual reception staff are unfailingly polite, friendly, and helpful. I got a triple room for £70.00, which, considering the location (in the shadow of St. Paul's cathedral) is good. I cannot imagine three adults, even small ones, and their luggage fitting into the tiny room (up...

An excellent place to stay. The staff are helpful. the room clean and airy, interesting area of London; Breakfast is nothing to write home about though; plentiful, but the cooked breakfast isn't kept hot; I waited for a fresh tray of tinned tomatoes to be brought out, but they were only warm.

Beautiful building in an amazing location. You can't order food when there are groups in and there is no self catering, most evenings I was there it was not possible to eat there. Not very convenient especially as there is no means of finding out exactly when the kitchen will be closed (you get different answers from the kitchen and...

Hi Harvey Nobum, Thank you for taking the time to review us at St Pauls. I was disappointed to hear about your experience with the kitchen team and this is something I will investigate. We serve our Menu every evening between 5pm and 8.30. If we have a large group dining with us we do offer the menu however there...

I stayed for 4 nights in an 8 bed female dorm. It was secure and quiet, with comfortable, thoughtfully arranged beds, and lockers in the room. Great touch! There is a row of ensuite sinks, and the showers are just outside the dorm's door. Loos are a few steps away around a corner. These arrangements were convenient and afforded lots...

We booked a 4 bedded private room for our party (2 adults 2 children) The room had bunk beds which the children loved. The room had a sink and you used the showers and toilets just outside the room which are private when you use them. We had the all you can eat breakfast for £4:99 which was great. There...

it's a old heritage building. location is great, not far from the tube. very near to St Paul's I stayed in the girls room. quite noisy at night then, due to a big group of kids travel. I dint get to have breakfast either. there are nearby pubs for good drinks and dinner. lockers for backpackers in the rooms. limited...

The hostel is brilliant. The tube is 3min away by foot and you are 5 min away from millenum bridge and st pauls cathedral is around a corner of your street. Its very clean and not so noisy as some people say at least not our room. The only thing is we found a mice last night of our stay...

The YHA St Paul's was alright and they took great care to make sure we were prepared for our stay with a very informative email. All the details went smoothly but the stay itself was just not enjoyable. The area was convenient to the Underground stop (which was only a couple of stops from a major train station), which was...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
