Fortunately you can exit without any stairs. As you get off of the train, heading towards the "front" of the station, veer off towards the left and you'll see a large (big enough for vehicles to go through) open-air entrance, basically in front of tracks 9 & 10 - this is the Praed Street Entrance. It will actually be pretty obvious when you're there and lots of other people going in and out.
Exiting here you will go up a gently sloping driveway which will put you on Praed St at the intersection with London St (the street on which the Hotel Indigo is located). The hotel is straight ahead something like 100 yards down London St on the right-hand side; however a fence on the opposite corner means you'll need to cross London St first (towards Garfunkel's Restaurant), then cross Praed St, and finally cross London St once more in order to be on the same side of the street as the Indigo. You'll see the crosswalk markings on the street.
Once on London St walk straight ahead. You will cross a small side street (I'd call it an alley), called Conduit Pl. From that point the Indigo will be less than 200 feet ahead - you will see the blue awning and signage in the window. Enjoy!
