We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment as it was the easy option for a family of four. It's in a good location and the staff were very friendly. The apartment has comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, good quality flat screen tvs in lounge and both bedrooms & wifi. It was a pretty nice apartment but really let...

The hotel is one block from the Glouster Road tube station which is on the Picadilly line. (Heathrow). There are coffee shops, restaurants and a Tesco Express between the tube station and the Harrington. Maxwells is open early for coffee and late for light supper.(100 ft away). We stayed in a studio that was in the basement. The studio was...

To be fair the property was lovely and the staff are friendly enough. The issue that we had been that we were put in a basement room that was underneath an adjoining restaurant. It was close to midnight every night before the patrons/staff stopped dragging furniture across the floor. Additionally, the bathroom smelled of mildew enough that we brushed our...

When we arrived, there were two staff members who I assume were security and they gave us black looks, so that wasn't too welcoming. The staff at the check-in desk were very efficient but not what I would call friendly. At checkout in the morning, it was a totally different story with two very friendly young ladies at the desks....

Clean, well serviced and relatively roomy apartment. Helpful staff made check-in and out quick and easy. Close to Gloucester Rd tube, V & A and Natural history museums. Kitchen power points need to be more conveniently located - hopefully this will be part of the anticipated refurbishment.

Spent 4 nights here. The location was perfect. Close to station and many restaurants and great pubs etc. I'm not sure that the hotel deserved 4 star rating. It was adequate but the air con didn't work, the bathroom was tiny and overall the furniture etc was average. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend based on the...

Good accommodation and well equipped - location is convenient and staff friendly and efficient - neighbours a bit noisy but not the fault of the hotel - eating places for all tastes close by and supermarkets as well - Hop on Hop off bus has a stop 1 block away from the hotel

First the positives 1. Location - a stones throw from gloucester rd station (on the piccadilly line from heathrow) 2. Space. We had a 2 bedroom apartment for a family of 4, with 2 small bathrooms, a living/dining room, and a small kitchen. Much more than you'd get for paying a similar amount in a London hotel Negatives: 1. 3.5...

Recently stayed here for a few nights and overall I would say it is okay. You could do worse than booking here and you could do better. For what it is I would say that it is overpriced, but then aren't all of London's hotels overpriced ? The reception from the staff on arrival wasn't great, they were not rude...

Hello Ken, Thank you very much for your thorough and honest review. We’re delighted you found The Harrington’s so agreeable. We’re extremely lucky to be in the middle of South Kensington, a stone’s throw from the best museums, restaurants and shopping opportunities in London. Maintaining the apartment structure of The Harrington was a very conscious decision. We wanted to offer...

We stay 12 nights in London, the location is convenient, just a block from the tube, supermarket is just right beside the station, which is great to bought food after sightseeing (open to 10pm, except Sunday closed by 5pm). There is a laundry & drying machine at the basement, which cost some money. The Gloucester Road station is just 40min...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
