There was no receptionist or porter to check me in. There was only one bedside light that didn't work. The tiled floor had a hole in it stuffed with paper then taped. The furniture and curtains were cheap and poor quality. The walls were paper thin. I was woken by the couple in the room next door making a terrifically...

small but clean room, towels not brilliant and dirty windows. View was dreadful overlooking back yard. very steep stairs (we were on 3rd floor). wish I had done a bit more searching for a better place. A key code is needed to enter the building, but I had not received an email containing this until I chased them for it.

Very close to station.quite expensive for what it is, tiny room with screened off en- suite. Extremely noisy, we could hear conversations from all the rooms and when they used bathroom or turned tap on. We were aware of no lift and no reception, but the stairs were very steep and tiny. Very tiny cupboard for clothes. Small double bed....

Got there a little before the 2pm check in, having been told we could check in at 1pm. They did not seem completely prepared for us being early but despite this we got to our room in minutes. Clean, spacious, perfect for our needs. Separate sleep areas for adults and 2 kids. No tables by kids beds. Shower good, 2...

I contacted the hotel via booking.com to request a later checkout. This was approved. However at 11am the cleaner was banging on the door and forcing us out, she got the manager involved and I had proof in the form of an email that we could stay until 1pm that day. Even with the proof she claimed that booking.com had...

Cheap for London but you get what you pay for. Self check-in tiny room with shower/toilet/basin in the bedroom screened off. Overlooked the bins. We only wanted a place to sleep for the night and at least the bed was comfortable and shower ok.

Worst hotel experience ever. The room itself was very small had an awful smell coming from the toilets which was only partially masked with air freshener. After going to bed at around midnight, a loud alarm started going off from the empty and locked room next door which immediately woke us up, and didn't stop. We realised it must have...

I had read a range of reviews about the Belle, we were going to the Opera on Trooping The Colour Day so our choice of hotels was limited. Our room was partly clean, the bin was full from the previous guests and the towels had brown stains (they had obviously never been in a hot wash). However there is linen...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
