The Travelodge London Tower Bridge hotel offers a welcoming atmosphere with its clean and comfortable rooms, albeit some guests find the decor a bit dated. While the central location near public transport and attractions is highly praised, noise from nearby trains and roads can be a nuisance, especially since a lack of air conditioning forces guests to choose between heat and noise. Opinions on service and amenities are mixed, with commendations for friendly staff and USB sockets, but frustrations over inconsistent housekeeping and room servicing. Many travelers question the hotel's value for money, citing various discomforts and inconveniences.

We were really pleased we our recent stay at this Travelodge. For us, the main priorities in London were price, location and convenience. The location/convenience of the hotel was brilliant. We were able to walk to the Tower of London/Tower Bridge (which was about 5-10 minutes away). There was a tube station at the Tower, but there were also many others around, so getting onto the tube was easy. The price of the room was also really reasonable, considering it was half term, and we were even able to get a SuperRoom for our budget, as well as an early check in (from 12pm). The early check in was fab, even though they did have a hold luggage service, but it meant we could freshen up earlier and get back into London. The room itself was lovely, the bed was comfy, the shower had loads of settings and there was hot chocolates as well as tea and coffee. There is an overground train which goes straight past the hotel, but just be aware of this before you book. The train does stop between something like 12-5am. It didn't bother us when we were in the room during the day, and we didn't get disturbed by it at night either, however we didn't have our windows open at night, because of the time of year. We also didn't try the bar or have food in the restaurant, mainly because there were a couple of pubs nearby, there was a Whetherspoons literally down the road from the hotel. We also ate and drank in other parts of London, but it was nice to have a restaurant/bar onsite if needed, and they seemed to do some reasonable deals on food. The staff were really helpful, and they gave us a little explanation of how everything worked when we arrived. They don't have a cleaning service everyday unless you hang something on your door advising you want it. We didn't mind not having our room cleaned, and actually didn't take them up on the maid service. We often came back at lunchtime, and went out again in the afternoon, so it was nice to be able to do that without worrying if the maid would be in our room, but the service looked good. We'd often go to reception for more teas/coffees/hot chocolates and they always obliged. Overall, perfect location, good value for money, and just what you need for a city break, when really, you don't spend a huge amount of time at the hotel, plus really helpful staff. I'd definitely return :)

This Travelodge was fantastic, I couldn’t recommend it more. Me and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights paying £138 which included breakfast, great value! The location is fantastic as the Tower Hill tube station was a 2 minute walk and Aldgate station about 5 minutes walk. We upgraded to a super room for a small price, the room was small although very comfortable and clean, and the shower was a great temperature! The staff are very polite and friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I’m looking forward to staying again!

We decided quite last minute to go into London for New Years Eve and wanted to stay somewhere central to be able to visit places relatively quickly and easily. This Travelodge was close to a train station and buses, a 5 minute walk to Tower Bridge where we were able to enjoy the festive markets and views up the Thames, and close to many other sites.

We haven’t always found Travelodge to be the nicest stay in terms of quality, so when we arrived and checked into our room we were pleasantly surprised. Whilst there were noise from cars, it’s expected because you are in the centre of a major city. The room had ample space, was modern and well kept, did not at all resemble other Travelodges we have stayed at.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and kept their professionalism on a night that is crazy busy, and the breakfast was worth the cost. I liked the extra security if having to use your card to access lifts as I feel it brings an extra level of security in such a busy city.

Sadly I don’t have pictures to add as it wasn’t a destination accomodation but the photos online reflect the actual room we got. Thanks for a great stay, we won’t hesitate to stay again.

We arrived midday from London city airport. We were very happy to see how close the hotel is the the DLR (next door!) and towerhill and Algate tube stations.
We weren’t surprised when the assistant manager said it was to early and no beds ready but happily surprised when we enquired about upgrading to ‘super room’ to be told he would wave the £15 and upgrade us for free.
Off we went leaving our cases at reception to explore Tower of London for a few hours, it is literally just around the corner.
Came back at 4pm to a smooth check in. Got a room on the forth floor. Quite a small compact room but had all we needed for our 3 nights stay. Ironing board, iron, hair dryer.....there was a ‘pod’ coffee maker but it wouldn’t work properly and just flooded the desk when we tried to use it! Back to basics with the kettle. A little disappointed that our coffees, milk and Kit Kat’s were not replenish either of the following days but mentioned to reception who gave me a big handful of coffee sachets and milk.
I’d imagine it would get very stuffy in the room in warmer weather, no air con and poor ventilation. Opening a window let’s in all the noise of London, fine during the day but couldn’t put up with it overnight.
Toilet in the bathroom was pretty dirty! In desperate need of a good old scrub and bleach! The rest of the room was clean however and towels changed daily.
First night was a Thursday and hardly heard anything in our room with the window closed over night. The next 2 nights however there was some awful shouting and screaming down the corridor in the hotel all throughout the night! But you can get this anywhere I suppose. And also not the hotels fault, but due to a storm and the opposite building being covered in plastic, this made for another sleepless noisy night!
All staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. Fantastic location. We booked our stay during a sale so got the 3 nights for just £144.75! Amazing value for 3 nights in central London in a decent clean room with facilities. Will return to this hotel when we are back in London.

The location of the hotel is great but the overall experience was below poor for what I have come to expect from Travelodge. I regularly use Travelodge as the price is good, there are no thrills but you can rely on a clean and comfy room that allows you to get a good night's sleep. This was not the case for this location.

The rooms are noisy. The external noise (trainline and road) is mentioned before booking, however internal doors slamming and other guests meant inside noise was also an issue.

The rooms were generally clean but the more you looked the more dirt you could find. House keeping left dirty cups and bed sheets from our floor outside out room all day and this wasn't something we enjoyed when going to and from our room.

The outside of the hotel is poorly maintained with rubbish dumped outside your window on the train line side. There is multiple bins right at the entrance that were over flowing when we arrived.

The rooms are hot as the windows are tiny and there is no air con. If you do open the windows you'll be in for a loud night.

There are better Travelodge's nearby that i would recommend, but not this one.

Stayed here the night of Saturday August 29th. My friend who had arrived and checked in before me mentioned it was my 21st birthday to reception and the staff kindly upgraded us from a standard room which I had booked to a super room free of charge!! They might be able to do this as during Covid they’re probably not as busy as usual but honestly the staff went out of their way and did not have to do this! Upon my arrival they also wished me a happy birthday and said I’ve got a surprise waiting (the upgraded room)!! The man also put us on the “good side” meaning we were not facing the noisy railway. Aside from that they were also super lovely and welcoming at reception, I regret not getting their names but it was a lovely blonde haired woman and short brown haired man working on August 29th at about 3pm, if that was you thank you SO MUCH!! You truly helped to make my 21st birthday special!! Never stayed at a travelodge and honestly expected the bare minimum but got so much more!!!
The next day we were also running late with checkout at 12pm, my friend had gone downstairs to pay for late checkout as we realised we weren’t going to be out on time and the man at reception told him that if we’re just going to be another hour, we can checkout then free of charge! Very accommodating!!

The service aside, this hotel is also in a great location, 2 min walk to DLR station and only about a 4-5 min walk to Tower Hill Tube station. About a 10 min walk from Tower Bridge itself. Also very conveniently there is a Wetherspoons literally on the opposite side of the road!

I see a lot of reviews mentioning that the rooms are boiling hot, however I don’t know if this depends on the room you receive but we had absolutely no problem with this on the 5th floor and the temperature was just perfect!

Not a bad word to be said about the hotel in my experience, lovely stay! Again, thank you to the staff that day, you truly delivered lovely and friendly service especially in times of a pandemic, for that I thank you!

The Tower Bridge Travelodge is a comfortable, economical choice for anyone requiring accommodation for a sightseeing break. The hotel is within walking distance to The Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St Katherines Dock, Brick Lane etc etc
There are many choices for breakfast which is excellent value. Staff are helpful and friendly.

We have used this hotel on several occasions over the years and are aware that it is ‘no frills’ and can be noisy on the railway side. Arrived late afternoon 27/8/21 on check in the receptionist moved us to a room other than we had originally been allocated and this probably where the issues started.
On arrival at the room one of the ceiling ceiling lights was not working and the bathroom floor was grubby around the edges. We went out almost immediately reporting the non functioning light to reception. On our return we noticed that there was only sheets on the bed and no duvet. We found the duvet in its cover in a corner just returned from the laundry. Not an issue just an inconvenience in a fairly dark room. We also noticed that the extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. Went out next morning assuming our room would be cleaned. On our return late afternoon our bins had not been emptied, coffee and cups not replenished. We complained to reception who advised us that they should have been. As we went out in the evening we noticed that the room next to ours had a ‘please make up my room’ notice hanging off the door. We did not have one of these and asked reception for one , they said they were out of stock and rooms were only made up every 3 days due to Covid! The next morning on our way out we raised the issues with reception and we’re told that we should have the sign on our door asking for the room to be made up. The elusive out of stock sign. On our return that afternoon our bins had been emptied, coffee and cups replenished and 3 dry hand towels were on the bed. Wet towels still in bathroom. The house staff were in the corridor so I took the wet towels to them and asked for dry bath towels which they supplied.
Number of issues here, room not made up, different stories each time we complained, Covid blamed for most of this . To be fair it was not been expected that we were in that room and the house staff would not have known to make up the room before our arrival but once we were in situ I would have expected it to be on the rota.
Whilst there was a reduced service attributed to Covid there was not a similar reduction in price.
Still we will be voting with our feet and not be stopping at any Travelodge in the future!

We have just returned for a four night stay here, and it left a lot to be desired.

The room itself was OK, we know what we're getting with a Travelodge, and we're only after somewhere to rest our heads on a night as we were up and out all day every day anyway.

The room was unbearably warm. Whether this is to do with the extra glazing to drown out the sound of the train tracks next to the hotel I'm not sure, but it is roasting. A small fan was provided but even that didn't help too much.

We were also disappointed that nobody came to refresh our room (towels, bins, coffee etc) despite us leaving the sign on our door handle to do so on three separate days. Ended up having to drip dry due to no dry towels by day 4, luckily the room is like a sauna so that is easy to do.

Overall, I would say avoid this Travelodge.

Bar seemed open as long as there were customers. Doubt food would be available too long into evening. Very handy Weatherspoons down the road.
